Experience description:
I was about 22 Sunday morning radio on, semi awake but with my eyes still closed...... .........floated up to the ceiling could see but my eyes were still closed, looked down on myself from two angles at the same time, thought i was going to be crushed to the ceiling and at that point 'returned' with a jolt. Whole thing probably lasted 10 seconds. My OBE was not frightening after the event, and I have even tried to recreate the conditions to have a repeat experience, but without success. I've also had occasional lucid dreaming, whispered voices in dreams ( frightening) and possible premonitions of events good, bad and some as yet not understood. Seeing myself rising from the bed at the same time as seeing me under the covers, both at the same time from a position at the top corner of a bedroom. Being awake but asleep at the same time Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Uncertain parts
of it don't make sense.........
What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience? SEE 4 but very hard to put into words
Was the experience dream like in any way? no .........far more 'real'
Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your
body? Yes I was in 3 places at once.............that sounds crazier than it was!!
What emotions did you feel during the experience? very calm up to the point where I my fingers were almost touching the ceiling then it ended with a jolt.
Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises? no
Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Uncertain I think they were all working
perfectly though only vision was really necessary
Did you have any sense of altered space or time? Uncertain SEE 4
Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose? No Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure? Yes WOW I'm glad you asked that one ............the ceiling stopped me
Did you become aware of future events?
No Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body? Uncertain Aware perhaps .it was either carry on and be crushed against the ceiling or panic and return to earth..........I didn't consciously decide the latter but I was scared so maybe that made my decision
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience? Uncertain I like most people???? experience occasional dreams that seem to relate to events that follow.
Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience? Yes calmer .........almost like i know there is more even if i don't fully believe it
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Uncertain More relaxed about life/death what will be will be, etc .........but don't really understand why.
Have you shared this experience with others? Yes Only very close friends but thought i would look on the net for similar experiences. Their reaction
was as I expected, favorable.........
What emotions did you experience following your experience? wow what happened and then thoughtful trying to understand and a feeling of calmness and of being wide awake. almost like I had just 'seen' something or been 'told' something , but I don't know what. But please see 23 as well . I may appear to contradict myself but how do you accurately
describe something so unusual????
What was the best and worst part of your experience? the best was the first few seconds and the aftermath the worst was when I 'touched' the ceiling
Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? It was real for me but as I have said I strongly believe in the power of the brain, suggested explanations would be appreciated.
