Experience description:

I had been awake for more than 24 hours.  My brain was fully awake but I could tell my body didn't like being awake.

I was lying on the couch at night when I could start to hear and feel my heart beat slowly and loudly.  All of a sudden I had this weird sensation go through my body.  Like a slow electric shock or weird shiver.  Next thing I know I'm not where my body is lying.  I'm floating up.  I was absolutely terrified that I had just died.  Although I'm not religious, I was raised a Catholic and surrounded by stories of souls and spirits.  So, I thought I had just died.  That feeling changed though rather quickly.  I had this warmth that came over me that can only be described as the bliss that you get from love; love that brings you joy and peace.  It was like just falling in love or having hugged a love one after a long time away from them.  I felt like I knew there was a barrier surrounding me that would ensure that I would feel this way for the rest of eternity.  I didn't want this feeling to stop.

But it did and I was back on the couch again. I thought I had died and then come back to life again. Then it happened again, the terror and then the feeling of bliss.  Then I was back on the couch thought about what happened again and then drifted off to sleep.
