I suddenly lurched back into my body and ran to tell my mom what had happened. I told her that I had not been dreaming in these few minutes, but felt fully awake and alert. She explained to me that I had had an out of body experience. But I did not recognize this picture on the wall until a few years later. I found a book at the bookstore. Inside the book was the same picture I had seen flash before me on the wall. The picture name in the book said 'Kuthumi.' After this, I joined the universalist church that had published the book.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   I felt intense love wash over me right before this out of body experience. This tremendous feeling of love stayed with me for days.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I felt completely aware of my body, the time, the surroundings and the great love washing over me. I had never seen a white light this bright.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   lt was like being in a soundless vacuum, incredibly quiet with no street noises.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Yes   I saw everything in my living room exactly the way it was, even the coffee table and couch. But I did not see my body on the couch when I was floating around the room.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Again an intense love that I had never remembered feeling before or since.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   Again an intense white orb of light glowing very brightly over the coffee table. This orb or ball of light was too bright to be physical.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
Again in answer to my question of where this glowing orb came from, I saw a picture of a bearded man suddenly appear on the wall and fill the whole wall about 8 ft by 8 ft size picture. (And no I have never done drugs in my entire life).

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   Yes   This huge picture of a bearded man that suddenly appear on the wall was later identified as 'Kuthumi'  (((NDERF: See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koot_Hoomi )))

I later read stories that 'Kuthumi' was a Saint that had lived on earth as Saint Francis of Assisi.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   I knew at this time that I was more than a physical body and this gave me a sense of great peace.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   I sensed that this bearded man that suddenly appear on the wall (and later identified as 'Kuthumi') was a great spiritual being that had brought this glowing orb of intense white light.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   Yes   Yes. after this out of body experience, I realized that I had a soul and that there are powerful spiritual beings capable of manifesting this intense white orb of light.

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   Yes I somehow knew that this spiritual being picture that flashed on my wall (later identified as 'Kuthumi') was my teacher and friend.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I believed in the existence of the soul and spiritual being from heaven. I did not know about out of body experiences at the time. I also did not know that they would or could contact me until then.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   My family and I have had many life saving miracles since praying to this Saint Kuthumi. I also became a mother three times. I was told when to conceive Tham and the names of all three of my children. I was also told that I would have three girls before becoming a mother and that is exactly what I later had, three healthy wonder girls. I almost died twice during my first two pregnancies. I would not have survived without doctors and my prayers to Kuthumi and Mother Mary. I also was told in my prayers for 1 1/2 years to move to Chicago from Dallas. When I finally moved to Chicago, this is where I met my future and current husband.

So all these spiritual experiences resulted from my leap of faith to trust and pray to this spiritual being (Kuthumi) that first appeared to me when I was 20 yrs. old; thus this experience greatly changed my life forever.

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I was not a religious person until after this.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Uncertain   I just know that saints exist, prayers to saints work, and that there is no real death since the should lives on.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     My search to again find that intense unconditional love is my motivator to be a more loving person to others.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I told my mom that same day and later I told my husband.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   This experience was more real more physical than anything I had ever experienced before.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   I was more alert and awake at that time than I had ever felt before or after this time. I knew that I was not dreaming, and felt my body when I left and entered it again. All these physical sensations I had never felt while sleeping. Plus I remember being fully awake with my eyes closed and then opening my eyes with full conscious awareness a few minutes after this experience. No dream has ever come close to this experience or alertness.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I bonded with my mom after this. I later found out that she would have died of complications of double pneumonia if I had not prayed to Kuthumi and been close enough to her to recognize she needed medical attention. I also found my future and current husband in the same church that had published the picture of this saint. I also helped save his life from cancer with prayer to Kuthumi and medical intervention. I also almost died three times myself after this, but for what I believe were prayers to this saint and others.

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   Prayer became part of my daily life.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   No
