Experience description:

I was on the edge of a cliff dealing with insurance companies and the medical community trying to get my wife help.  I bought a book (something to do about self hypnotic states or something like that.  I went to the top floor of what is known on Cape Canaveral AFS as the VIP, to an isolated and quite room known as the VIP room.  It overlooked the titan launch pads.  I followed instructions in the book about staring at an object and letting my eye lids get heavy.

Before I when into the room my mind and body had been drained of all energy, I was depressed, agitated, and down right worn down.  I must have fell asleep or into some kind of trance, because the next thing I knew I was above my body looking down at my self.  I could not see the spirit I was looking out of.  It seems I knew that I had left my body and I started to experiment with it.  First I tried moving and I had excellent skills at moving, effortlessly.  I decided to take a chance and flew right out the window (about 10 - 12 stories above the ground) I was fast and it appeared to last for hours.  I don't know what or how I came back, but I think I wished it, for I had been experiencing this for quite some time at least 3 or 4 hours.  Anyway I think I wished to return, because I woke up.

I was really afraid that I had been gone (from work) a long time.  I rushed back to my work center.  When I got back I found out that I had only been gone about 15 minutes and knew it was impossible.  The other thing I realized I was totally relaxed, refreshed, and full of energy.  I had spend the better part of the last month getting no more than a couple of hours restless sleep each night.  I felt more rested than I could ever remember, my mind was clear and I was fully prepared to battle some more on my wife behave.  The end results did not change, the insurance company didn't change their position, and the medical world did not cure my wife.  She passed away in early 1991.  It did change my life as far as believing in God and the capabilities of man.
