Experience description:

I was browsing the message board Sonic Vegemite, sonicveg.proboards22.com, and reading a post regarding an online comic strip. Suddenly, I heard a loud roar in my ears and a "BAM" kind of noise, and I was suddenly floating beside myself. I was terrified at first, but looking at my limp and motionless body, I understood what was going on. I briefly traveled around my home but could not go downstairs for some reason. I was lucky in that my parents did not see my body during this experience. When I was heading back down the hall to my computer room, everything at the end of the hall swirled and darkened, seemingly creating some sort of void.  I was too wary of it to experiment by touching it, but it seemed to be gradually pulling in everything else. I went back into my computer room, floated above my body and was instantly sucked, literally, into my head again. I gave a large jump and a gasp of air when I regained consciousness, and looked around before returning to my browsing.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No      

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No      

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No      

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           I was very conscious and alert and was able to control my motions completely, other than what was mentioned above.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   No, I could control my actions completely, and it was a perfect rendition of my house. The only difference was that there were little wisps coming out of the walls, like I was in some sort of spirit world.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Uncertain      I couldn't really tell, but when I looked down, I seemed to be liquid. I could shoot out parts of myself like a blast, but I never seemed to get any smaller. I was like a self-generating blob of goo.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            I had small amounts of feeling, which were mostly common sense, such as avoiding the dark, spiraling portal and curiosity towards my new form.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           There was a steady rush of wind coming from an unidentified location that I could not feel, but could hear. When the portal opened, a loud shriek and a roar emanated from it.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?            Uncertain      The portal appeared to be attempting to suck me in to the afterlife or some such. The shrieks suggested that it was some sort of religious realm of eternal consequences.

Did you see a light?           No      

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     There was a full-fledged spirit like myself. He or she, I couldn't tell, made odd grinding noises, and looked like he was some sort of gigantic insect.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? Uncertain     

I attempted to move a large rock I keep on my dresser, but my hand slid through it. The liquid my spirit was made of did not affect things in the physical realm.

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          No       Did you have any sense of altered space or time?          Yes     Physical time seemed frozen. The world itself was moving like heat waves, swaying and bending. I was able to go through walls, and there were objects in this spirit realm that I was unable to see when in the physical.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    No      

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             Yes     I was unable to move downstairs, and I did not cross the boundary. It seemed that I would be permanently split from my body if I went past it

Did you become aware of future events?       No      

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       No       Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?   Yes     I gained the ability to make water move, or aqua-kinesis. I don't have the ability to move much for a medium-length or longer distance.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   No      

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       No, but I am now practicing my water power in my spare time.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Uncertain     

Have you shared this experience with others?         No      

What emotions did you experience following your experience?        A new sense of power in my mind, as if I were using more of it.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The best was when I returned to the physical, able to move water. The worst was when the dark portal opened. An ungodly maniacal laughter came from it that would have sent me sprinting in the other direction at top speed if I was in my body.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        My parents tell me that my entire eye turns navy sometimes now, and I believe they are referring to when I subconsciously move water.
