Sid K's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was
assigned to Fort Devens, Massachusetts and was making my normal drive home to
Clinton, Mass about 13 miles away. I had done many OBEs in the past and all at
my own directing utilizing a fairly simple yet powerful technique, however, on
this particular occasion, I did not try to go out of body, nor would I have even
thought of doing so because I was driving my car. It just simply happened, no
warning. One item
of particular note though. This OBE was in full color and crystal clear - not
the normal shades of blue grey astral projection I'm used to. What's so weird
about this particular OBE is that I can't remember anything after exiting the
main gate of Ft. Devens and taking the first exit west bound off of route 2. My
first awareness that I was OB was when I was looking down at myself from about
500 ft above my car in Clinton Mass. The view was as though I was looking at a
matchbox car placed at my feet. I knew the car was mine (83 Mustang GLX Conv,
top down) and I could see myself driving it. Everything was going fine until I
realized that I couldn't remember seeing anything from the driver's view, or any
other view for that matter, of the last 6 - 8 miles of driving. This memory
should have included taking the exit, stopping at the T intersection, turning
left towards Sterling (right doubles back through Shirley and on to Ayer and the
other gate at the base), Going several miles up and down a few low hills and
around several wide turns, stopping again at another T intersection and turning
left (right goes to Sterling), bearing right at a fork in the road towards
Clinton, and then driving about another mile and a half before I get to a bridge
near a school or church on the right. This 'realization' cased the OB to end
abruptly. I was back in my body, shivering, mild trembling and started some mild
sweating. I pulled over to the side of the road just before the bridge and
calmed down before continuing home. The most reassuring thing which calmed me
was the simple fact that somehow, even during the OB, I knew I was still in
control of my body. This was my first, and to this day, my only full color, full
clarity of vision OBE.
Any associated medications
or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of experience
difficult to express in words?
No
What was your level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience?
The OB half was crystal clear,
total consciousness once it kicked through to my awareness. The disturbing part
is the total lack of consciousness for the several miles preceding my awareness
of the situation/event.
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
only in that I was 'flying'...
nothing new in that though
Did you experience a
separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
total peace
Did you hear any unusual
sounds or noises?
just the sounds of rushing wind
and passing cars (from a distance)

amazing creatures?
Yes The town of Clinton, but I should have been in an ultra light for

different?
Yes

Did
you have any sense of altered space or time?

reentered my physical body.
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
