W's Experience
|
Experience description:
At
ages 10, 11 and 12, I used to have a lot of fun lying on my bed and floating up
to the ceiling while wide awake and fully able to visually see my physical body
on the bed. It just felt good to do and I enjoyed it. No one ever told me to
do this, or that I could do this, or anything about it at all. I just decided
to do it one day and then every now and then I would just lie down and have the
experience. It was
pleasant. It was not frightening, until my older brother, whom was the only
person I told about it told me I shouldn't do it because I might not be able to
get back into my body. I pretty much thought my brother knew everything, so I
did finally stop. This is
actually my first recollection of an out of body experience, although there
might have been some at a younger age. I have had quite a few of them since,
including a NDE in 1994 related to Graves Disease. In 1974 I
began to notice that my long time habit of "talking to God" was now bringing
forth information. So yeah, I've been talking to the "voices in my head" for a
long time now. And no I never once that it was crazy or that I was. I was,
however, very careful not to tell others about it. I wouldn't say that I really
thought it was "God" that was speaking with me, but perhaps angels or angelic
beings. I had no religious background in such things so I just listened to what
seemed like helpful, reassuring guidance and encouragement. I was never told to
DO anything, but it was suggested that after 4 and a half months in the top of
the Mountains in Southern Utah it was time for me to get off the mountain and
back into interacting with others. The voices might be described as sounding
like the thoughts in my head, or my own voice. . .yet there was a difference and
there was most certainly a difference in the feeling or energy of those voices.
One at a time the information was shared with me. . .so there were not ever
voices in the plural talking to me at once. However, there was the impression or
feeling of different energies at times, so different voices.
Any associated medications
or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of experience
difficult to express in words?
No
At the time of this
experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
What was your level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience?
I was wide awake and felt
absolutely normal
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
No
Did you experience a
separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes I would say yes. My
conciousness seemed to reside with me in a less solid more etherical form
floating at the top of the room near the ceiling.
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
Peaceful. Enjoyable. Interested
that I was able to do it.
Did you hear any unusual
sounds or noises?
No
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No
Did you see a light?
Uncertain Maybe. . .it
did seem it was lighter visually at the top of the room than in the lower areas
of the room.
Did you meet or see any other
beings? No
Did you experiment while out
of the body or in another, altered state?
No Not in this event
Did you observe or hear
anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
No
Did you notice how your 5
senses were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes seemed more acute
Did you have any sense of
altered space or time?
No
Did you have a sense of
knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you reach a boundary or
limiting physical structure?
Yes It seemed the ceiling was
as far as I wanted to go, not so much that I couldn't go on beyond that. I was
just playing and the confines of my room seemed a safe place to do that.
Did you become aware of future
events? No
Were you involved in or aware
of a decision regarding your return to the body?
No
Did you have any psychic,
paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have
prior to the experience?
Uncertain I think they were
pretty much latent in me as they are in everyone else. I developed some of them
over time.
Did you have any changes of
attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
No
How has the experience
affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career
choices? All of the
experiences over a life time have caused relationships to end due to my extreme
focus on spiritual journeys, or seeking my path. However, all is perfect as it
is and it has changed my life ultimately in the most beautiful and important
ways possible. I love every now moment of it all.
Has your life changed
specifically as a result of your experience?
Uncertain It is hard to say
what specific role this may have played in my life. Things a lot more "odd" or
"strange" have been experienced over a lifetime. I did not fear these early
experiences and I have never had any fear of the susequent ones. The total of
all the experiences have most definately had a powerful impact on my life.
Have you shared this
experience with others?
Yes Nothing much. Those
shared with have had their own experiences. Some have asked me how come I have
had so many "extraordinary" experiences and they haven't. I always just say
because I was open to them, willing to experience them, had no fear of them and
maybe(maybe)I needed more of them in order to convince me I was on the right
path and not be so stubborn in some areas. They seem to be pretty strong
verifyers of the things I accept as my truth. . .I will never turn down a
verification or encouragement, but I used to be pretty head-strong stubborn
about some things.
What emotions did you
experience following your experience?
pleasure, as we are speaking of
the 10-12 year old's experience.
What was the best and worst
part of your experience?
Knowing that I could do it was the
best. The worst was letting my brother convince me to stop lest I not be able
to "get back into my body." A bunch of hog wash is how I would view that now.
Is there anything else you
would like to add concerning the experience?
I think it is pretty straight
forward.
Following the experience, have
you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which
reproduced any part of the experience?
Yes 11/4/1994 OBE, driving to
work as usual. Was lifted up and out of the car and could see myself driving
the car as I watched from above. An etheric or angelic presence next to me that
I could hear but not see said, "Accept all Love. Release all Fear. Prepare
yourself to leave." Sounded like good advice to me. What I felt about the
experience was how fascinating it was to see my physical body just driving along
in the car performing just fine without me in it. There seemed nothing in the
moments of that morning that would have precipitated this event. I wasn't
thinking about anything other than driving and getting on to work and hoping it
would be a good day. The feeling or energy of it was peaceful, reassuring, yet
quite wonderful or "other worldly" feeling.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes I think
pretty well.
Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.
For
those of us who have had many experiences there might need to be some sort of
listing of shortened versions. . .not exactly sure what it is you want. . .lots
of detail or sparce facts. Or maybe mostly looking for "regular" folks who have
had just one or two experiences. Good Luck with your research.
