I also had an out of body experience while vacationing in La Jolla, Ca in 1982. I fell asleep during the day in my hotel room.  I left my body at a high speed shooting straight up into the sky.  I passed through barriers, walls, the city, etc. Within seconds I was above the earth watching the planet.  It was beautiful.  I was attached to my body by a chord.  I was awed by the beauty but I was also frightened that the chord may sever and I would float into deep space.  I willed myself back into my body out of fear.  Woke up crying.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No 

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No    

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    Nor sure.  I believe I was aware the entire time.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   Things seemed very clear.  I was alert and calm.  In the case of going into space, I marveled at the beauty of everything I was seeing until I realized I had left my body and was attached by only a chord.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I could see everything, heightened senses.  I am near sighted but I could see details on the planet when I was above it.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   can't recall.  I could understand everything that was said during my surgery.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Uncertain  

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   peace in the case of surgery.  pleasure and awe at first then fright in the case of out of body experience.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   No  

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No
But I have in another instance.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No  

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No  

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No   Not in these instances but it's occurred in times of danger.

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
No awareness of time

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about the universe
Didn't have all the answers to the universe, no, but things just seemed peaceful, logical and make sense.  My experiences seemed natural and very matter of fact.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Uncertain

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   No
No but when I had the out of body experience when I fell asleep.  I stopped above the planet, viewing earth in front of me.  I had a sense that I should not go any further.

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No 
Not in these instances but it's occurred in dreams and heightened awareness.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (�life after death�)?   Yes   The fact that I could leave my body and return numerous times, tells me that ones spirit can separate and exist without a body.  These experiences confirmed my spiritual beliefs.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   Yes   I have had dejavu experiences separate from my out of body experiences

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Yes   Vivid dreams that come true.  Dreams that describe places I will visit later.  As a child I saw auras and recognized places that I had never been to.  I seem to know numbers before they are revealed.
