Sandra S's Experience
|
Experience description:
My father
was in the process of dying. He had been diagnosed with cancer four years
earlier with a prognosis of living a maximum of two years per the doctors. But
it had been four years. He always was an amazing warrior in life and now it was
at an end. My dad was lying in bed thrashing from one side to the other. His
heart was pounding so hard his chest shook. My brother sat on the left side of
my dad and my sister at the right, I was seated at the foot of the bed with my
right hand on his feet and we were all trying to comfort him during this
turbulence. Suddenly I heard my name being called very clearly, Sandy, Sandy.
It was a man's voice but didn't sound like my dad. It sounded like it was
coming from a computerized place or a long hollow tunnel. It was being heard
inside my head but not by anyone else in the room (verified later). I turned
around as I suddenly felt it must be Dad calling me but the only thing was he
was still on the bed going through the death process. I had turned to my right
and as I turned back around my eyes glanced up toward the corner of the ceiling
on my right and I saw a circle of mist hovering in the corner. The only way I
can describe the circle is that it looks exactly like the Lucent Technologies
circle on their sign, like a wide circle with kind of a tail escaping the
circle but it wasn't red it was a hazy mist/fog. I have reviewed this in my
mind a thousand times since his death and I think my dad's spirit had already
left his body. It is like people who report watching the ambulance people
working on them after an accident like they are above the body though the body
is still living. I think my dad had left his body and called to me so I would
know he wasn't suffering inside there any longer. For months
after his death our phone would ring and when myself or my husband would pick it
up and say hello there was no response. Just complete silence with no static, no
dial tone, no hang up. My husband began cussing out the other end of the line
thinking it was a prankster but I finally told him to stop as I had heard of
this phenomena somewhere and it might be dad calling to let us know he is still
around. Then around this time at our own home, our little male Maltese who my
dad loved to pieces, would look up and bark into the air. Run around the house
barking and jumping into the air. I took pictures of him carrying on and on the
pictures are globes of white light over his head. I have shown the pictures to
several people over the years with varying comments usually oh, it's probably
just the film. But the rest of the pictures on the same roll didn't have the
globes of light. Did you
hear the deceased or hear something associated with the deceased?
Yes
Describe what you
heard, how clearly you heard it and what was communicated:
Just my name being called.
Did the voice or
sound seem to originate externally or outside of you, inside you, or did you not

I heard the voice in my
head but not through my ears. It seemed to be coming from a long tunnel or
sounded computerized.
If you heard a
voice or sound, was it similar or dissimilar from the voice or sound the
deceased made when they were alive?
Didn;t sound like my dad's voice

Describe in detail your
feelings/emotions during the experience:
Wishing I could help my dad and
get this over with. I had told him days before that we would all be ok but
would miss him every day. But that it was ok if he needed to get on with new
things. But, now he was dying and I was having to be strong to not let him
down. I was internally in turmoil but externally the picture of a strong
woman. I felt comforted when I saw the mist circle after my name was called. I
even smiled at the mist circle and squeezed my eyes shut for a moment to let him
know the message was received!
What emotions did you feel
during the experience?
Wonderment.
Was the experience witnessed
or experienced by others?
No
Were there any associated
medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Did you ever in your life have
a near-death experience, out of body experience or other spiritual event?
Yes
In my twenties. I laid down in
the middle of the afternoon one day to take a nap. Next I realized I was in the
corner of the bedroom watching myself sleeping. I felt like I was occupying a
space of complete ecstasy. I felt completely separate and even uncaring for my
body like it was a piece of old furniture. After a little time I began to think
I had better go back. The moment I thought it I entered my solar plexus area
and actually heard a click when I got back in. No light, no spirits were around
me just a separation then re-enter. I thought of the experience over the years
and smile at how nice it felt.
