Experience description:

I was sitting in my living room thinking of what my relationship as creature could be with the Creator. At first I thought of myself as just a tiny grain of sand on an immense beach, indistinguishable from other grains and insignificant. Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind: if it was true that my existence ultimately depended on a Creator, it was also true that without creatures like me the supreme being could not be called creator. In other words, I thought, children cannot exist without parents and parents without children cannot be called parents but couples without children cannot be called parents. The moment I understood that fundamental interdependence, I literally saw my astral body float to the upper right corner of the living room, while simultaneously a tunnel opened slightly to the left and in front of me into which my astral body flew  to be received with the warmest WELCOME coming from a luminous being. To the right I saw a large semicircular portal with lights, some stronger and some dimmer moving about. Without words I asked where I was and the being said it was the other side. When I asked what the lights were, the being said they were spiritual survivors, the brighter the light , the more advanced spiritually is the person. I thanked the being, she said you are welcome. My astral body came back into me and the tunnel closed. Two weeks later, I called mother and upon hearing of my experience which she believe she told me about the book Life after Life by Dr. Raymond Moody that validate my experience.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No 

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  No    

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      At all times.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      Normal consciousness and alertness   It was normal consciousness.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   Not much different than everyday experience except the being was very bright and the welcome super warm.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   Same hearing. No difference

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   No  

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Very good and at peace from the welcome I received.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   Yes   My astral body entered the tunnel when I understood the mutually-dependent relationship between God as creator and us as creatures.

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   A beautiful luminous being at end of the tunnel.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
A beautiful and luminous being.

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No  

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No  

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No  

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   No

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   No

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   No

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes  The end of the tunnel where the luminous being stood.

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   No

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No 

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   The lights moving about beyond the portal were identified by my beautiful host as spiritual survivors.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was entirely consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   It was a event that was triggered by my discovery of the interdependence between the Creator and creatures.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   Other experienced had been mundane but this was other worldly.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   The experience removed all doubts and insecurities to replaced them with absolute certainty and confidence.

My experience directly resulted in:   Moderate changes in my life

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I wasn't sure about an afterlife but I became.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   No  

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     The luminous being at the end of the tunnel and the warmest welcome I had and have ever received.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   No  I shared it with my mother two weeks after the experience.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   I viewed it the same way it happened and still do.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   As real as the experience I had a mountaineer while climbing a mountain: being there.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   No  

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I became a stronger believer in the Creator and dedicated my life to do his will.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   No  

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?   That it was true precisely as described. I am 80 of sound mind and sincere

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?   Yes   They allowed me to tell the experience in detail.What could a national organization with an interest in near death experience (NDE) do that would be of interest to you?  Spread the truths that thee is a creator and life after this life for those who believe in him and do his will
