Experience description:

I was 12 years old. Lived with my family and shared a bedroom with my sister who is younger than me. 

I was experiencing some strange things around the house.

I would say an entity of some kind would call me by name when I was asleep.

Some short time before this occurred I had dreamt that some catholic saint was going to save me.

I did not believe very much in catholic saints at the time even though I was being raised catholic.

This morning as I lay in my twin bed close to the window I noticed there was sunlight.

It may have been around 10 am on a Saturday.

When all of a sudden I felt my body was very heavy and I could not move it.

Then I sensed my astral legs rising above my physical legs.

I was aware that I was awake and not asleep.

I tried to move my body but I could not. I could not move my head to see if my sister was in her twin bed on the other side.

I became frightened.

Became highly concerned that if I left my body I would not be able to enter it.

I was also concerned that if I left my body I would be unresponsive if someone tried to wake me. Therefore, have me for dead.

I aborted the experience and wanted my legs to get back into my body. However, this took a few seconds.

I had the sensation that unless my legs correctly fit into my body again I still could not move my physical body.

After a few tries of trying to get my legs back in and become whole again I was able to turn around and get up.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience? No

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? Uncertain    

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?      Awake

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  no

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?  No     

What emotions did you feel during the experience?         fear

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         no

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?   No     

Did you see a light?        No     

Did you meet or see any other beings?         No     

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Yes    I was fully awake, I knew where I was and that if I allowed the rest of my body to leave I might not be able to get back in and wasn't sure who else I would run into once I was floating consciously around.  I knew I was headed for aerial views and I could sense I was entering a different state of being of myself. I was also aware that I might be had for dead. No doubt I was fully aware that I could leave my body and continue to be alive and see everything from a different perspective. My senses were sharpened and my mind was awaken to a different reality outside of the terrestrial world in lived in.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?  Yes          Space. Both my mind and body were together experiencing a different space.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         Yes    I knew I was going to leave my body and float above myself and perhaps elsewhere. 

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          Yes    Yes, I wanted to return to my body fully. I was concerned of being found dead as the terrestrial world goes. Plus, I was not sure if I would run into other ghostly bodies.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience? Yes    I was experiencing paranormal behavior during those years. Of seeing, hearing things that frightened me.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience? Yes    I need to stay close to God.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   I am a devout Christian.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Yes    I am aware that there is more to life than what is seen by the eyes. I have a developed a 6th sense for things unseen.

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes    My adult daughter. Whose spirit body is trying leave her physical body recently. She also had a NDE at the age of 8.

What emotions did you experience following your experience? Fear of the unknown

What was the best and worst part of your experience?     Fear of not being able to enter my body.

Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?    Yes    Approximately 2 years later,  I almost drowned at the beach over a Fourth of July Holiday. The beach was very busy at this time.  I was caught in an undertow.  My friend who went with me thought I was joking as I was drowning. She kept laughing as well as another man that stood around me at the same time. Just when I was taking my last breathes and giving up on my life and that I would never grow up to get married and have children.
