Robert V's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was
living with my sister who had a large house. I had been missing my best friend
for about a year. He died of Leukemia at 16 years old. He was the first person
I lost that actually caused physical pain in my chest. I would run into people
who I thought looked so much like him and it would bring more pain. I kept on
like this for about a year. I one day
went to the library and checked out a book titled "The Best Story Ever Told".
All this time I'm just looking for answers for my pain. Anyway, I went upstairs
to my room and started to read the book. I don't know what happened next. I
don't remember falling asleep or anything like that. I just remember being
really close to the light fixture on the ceiling in the room that I was in. I
then reached out to touch the light fixture and I thought, "how neat." I
decided to look down and I saw my body lying in the bed with the book open and
on my chest. I remember thinking this is bizarre. Next thing
I'm in this dark whirl wind and moving uncontrollably through space. I can then
remember seeing a light. And I knew I was going to get to that light. I
finally made it to the light and everything slowed down and I was in a certain
place (not sure of my surroundings). All I know is there waiting for me was my
best friend who had died the year before. He told me to let him rest in peace.
And to take his hand and he would take me to show me how nice it was where he
was at. I remember having my arms folded and telling him that it was OK that I
didn't need to go see that I believed him. He told me not to be afraid. But, I
was kind of scared, but trying not to show it. I felt that if I took his hand
my sister would find me dead at the house in the room I was in. I didn't want
to take the chance. I just told him that I was very glad he was happy and I
promised I would let him rest in peace. We then
said our good-byes and I went backwards through that dark tunnel and slowly
drifted back into my body. I remember looking back and I slowly went into my
body. I then opened my eyes and I was back at my sisters house in my room. I
remember saying WOW and noticing that the pain in my chest was
gone.........forever. And that was my experience. Never told anyone for a long
time. What was
