Experience description:

As the only daughter with her 5 sons, my mother wanted me to cook and clean while the boys all ran off to play. I sneaked off after them for the first time. 

They were all playing in a dirty, muddy pond, and I jumped in. There were at least 12 children there. Suddenly, I realized that my feet could no longer feel the bottom and I was slowly sinking. The other children were oblivious and they all soon jumped out of the pond to go to another one. I sank until my shoulders were just above ground. I remember not being able to move my body.  Suddenly appeared on my right, from the quick sand area, a boy of about 12.  His skin color matched mine, but it had an unreal, reddish hue.  He stretched his arm to me and I stopped being afraid. He pulled me out of the quicksand, never saying a word. He looked at me and told me to be careful, mind to mind communication. When I was in the safer part of the pond, he let go of my right hand. When I looked to my right, he was just gone. I would have died at 10 but the Almighty God had mercy on me.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Yes  I fell into quick sand while playing in a pond with a dozen other children.

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     I never told anyone for almost 30 years.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      After seeing the angel

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   I knew the angel boy was not human and was fascinated by his appearance.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   Fear turned into peacefulness

Did you see an unearthly light?   No  

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I believe an angel appeared in the quicksand to save me. In order not to scare me, the angel appeared in my skin tone, but with an unusual reddish hue that fascinated me and made me forget about my fear of drowning.
