Ray K's Experience
|
Experience description:
I
am 62 yrs old with a science and engineering background and have been interested
in the afterlife and how it has been viewed by various religions and spiritual
paths. Throughout my life as far back as I can remember I have never feared
death, even though I have had a lot of "close calls" because of my adventurous
life style.
In my dream, I saw
myself as a adult in a car accident. I did not see my present self (as a child),
but I was looking at the car from the front. My adult self was in the front
seat, and my body was crushed by the engine. I felt that I was watching myself
die, and knew that my death was imminent. This dream has never repeated itself,
nor have I ever had a similar one since. At present time, I have come to a
conclusion that although this dream did not produce a conscious effect, I think
it produced a subconscious one. I feel that this may be why I have shown no fear
in death, and have a strong positive view of a Afterlife.
I have read much about
consciousness and the mystery of death, as viewed by Stanislav Grof, Aldous
Huxley, etc, and have spent a lifetime researching this subject.
Was
the kind of experience difficult to express in words?
No
At
the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
At
what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness
and alertness?
Can't really be sure since it was a long time ago, and I was very young. I do
believe That I was very conscious during the whole episode till I woke up.
How
did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience
compare to your normal every day consciousness and alertness?
More consciousness and alertness than normal
If
your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience was
different from your normal every day consciousness and alertness, please
explain:
Can't really be sure since it was a long time ago, and I was very young. I do
believe That I was very conscious during the whole episode till I woke up.
Did
your vision differ in any way from your normal, everyday vision (in any aspect,
such as clarity, field of vision, colors, brightness, depth perception degree of
solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)?
No
Did
your hearing differ in any way from your normal, everyday hearing (in any
aspect, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of sound, pitch, loudness,
etc.)?
No
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Not sure. Maybe surprised. Too young at the time.
Did
you have any sense of altered space or time?

No
Did

No
Did
you become aware of future events?
No
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
you did not have prior to the experience?
Uncertain Never have had a fear of death. Always felt that I was being
watched and protected by a presence not of the physical world.
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes Told my sister last year, so ~50+ years after. My sister is not a
spiritual person like myself, so there was no further discussion.
Did
you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
No
How
did you view the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it
happened:
Experience was definitely real Since I was so young at the time, although it
seemed so real, I never contemplated about it till I was much older.
Were there one or several parts of the experience especially meaningful or
significant to you?
Have
questioned "Existence", and "Life after Death" for most of my life. I guess the
experience fortified my present beliefs.
How
do you currently view the reality of your experience:
Experience was definitely real I think the answer is in previous answers.
I've been a very spiritual person, with a firm belief that there is something
beyond this life.

medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Is
there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
No.
Just am interested in input. Maybe someone else had a similar experience and
would like to discuss.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and
comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes Although this happened to me as a young child, the memory has never
left. Only the vividness of the experience has diminished.

none
