Experience description 3184:
I
was a child who became a man, a man who has now grown old.
In 2014 (or 15) I had a dream in which it was announced to me that I
would pass between 2016 and 2019.
Whether a simple dream or a premonition I do not know.
So.... during my life I had a number
of unusual experiences that I am now passing on through this medium.
I want to share these things with you so that you may know what is
possible. There is more to the reality of life than mankind understands... or is
willing to acknowledge. This is one
of those unusual personal encounters with the unexplained:
As
a child I underwent the on-set of involuntary out of body experiences (OBE).
These experiences took place within an estimated 30 to 60 day period.
I have no idea how or why this took place.
I did not seek to leave my body.
In fact, I had never heard of a person leaving their body.
On
one very ordinary night I went to bed as usual.
I always fell asleep easily and quickly.
Those things that trouble the sleep of adults were unknown in my life.
This night, however, something new and very different took place.
I had fallen asleep and awoke to find myself floating in the air in the
basement bedroom my brother and I shared.
I simply hovered about in the air near my bed and looked around the room.
In 10 or 15 seconds it was over.
Thinking about what happened the next day I decided it was bewildering
but enjoyable. I was neither shocked
or fearful. What had happened was
completely unexpected and I had taken it in as it transpired.
There was no time to be frightened or question what was happening
What was it like? I, a thinking,
living, breathing human being was literally out of my flesh and blood body.
I existed then just as I do now.
I was me just as I was when in my body at age 12.
I had intellect, I had vision and, as far as I know, my other senses were
intact. I was simply me minus my
flesh. I was weightless and gravity
seemed nonexistent. The conclusion I
draw from this is that we are not our bodies, and our bodies are not us.
We are, at a minimum, a two part entity.
In
a day or two I had a second OBE. I
found I only had to want, or desire, to move, and it happened.
I moved to an adjoining room in our basement and learned that I could
pass through a block wall. When I
returned I passed through a heating duct and grate.
I learned that the laws of science that govern our physical body do not
apply to the spirit. And this time
the ability to ""fly"" was really enjoyable.
Getting back into my body just seemed to happen.
The OBE seemed perfectly natural.
Leaving my body began to happen frequently.
It happened right after going to bed, just before or right at the
beginning to entering the sleep state.
OBEs only happened at night.
I was good at relaxing and found being really relaxed to be quite pleasurable.
There seemed to be a link between being deeply relaxed or on the verge of
sleep and having an OBE.
With experience I grew bolder in moving about while having an OBE.
Soon I went straight up out of our house into the night sky and looked
out at the city's lights. Once out
of my home I found I was still somewhat frightened or unsure of what was
happening with OBEs. Still, I had
reached the point that I looked forward to leaving my body.
I could not leave my body at will but had learned that relaxing or
entering sleep seemed to be key in what was happening to me.
I
wanted desperately to tell my brother what was happening but was afraid of being
laughed at or considered crazy.
Finally I told him and he certainly did laugh at me.
But instead of ridicule he told me he had been leaving his body in an OBE
each night to travel. He laughed
because I was a late bloomer and a apparently a bit of a dunce by comparison.
Soon I developed a desire to increase my OB movements.
I wanted to travel over the ocean but upon coming to the shoreline at
night I balked, uncertain of my ability.
A second attempt took me out to the shipping lanes, where I stopped and
watched the ships' lights as they made way both north and south along the coast.
My third try was to go to London, England, which, for some reason, I felt
compelled to do. I was a child and
had never been to London, but I wanted to be over the city at night.
I made that trip successfully.
I can say that it was very dark over the ocean at night, so much so that
it was fearful. Another concern was
the height involved. Looking around
a familiar bedroom was one thing, being out and about was another.
The OBEs seemed both natural and unnatural at times.
There was never a sense of hot or cold in an OBE, nor a need to breathe.
Travel, or long distance movement, seemed very fast, yet not quite
instant. When stopped over the ocean
I did observe other travelers moving in straight lines.
They were visible as streaks of light high in the dark, and moved very
fast.
And then the OBE's stopped. The
length of time they lasted was brief, no more than a month or two.
Then they were finished. It
was many years before I had another, and those later OBEs were different in the
mechanism that brought them about.
What started or stopped the OBEs? I
have no idea. Perhaps this was about
the onset of puberty. Your guess is
as good as mine.
Much
later in life I worked with someone who had been involved in a research program
regarding OBE's, so I told him what you have just read.
He thought me very lucky as this sort of thing is uncommon, though it
does exist. The OBEs just happened.
More than 50 years have passed and I can't even begin to explain what
happened.

the experience?
Awe, disbelief,
surprise, interest and occasional fear or fright.
Did you hear any unusual sounds or
noises?
No.

No
Did you notice how your 5 senses
were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes
Vision worked.
Did not notice the other senses. I

your experience?
The best was
the first OBE, as it taught me OBEs are possible.
The worst was the abrupt end.

Experience description 3172:
The day had been unremarkable, the evening ordinary.
That night, however, I became a witness to the apparent murder of my
brother.
A
troubled Vietnam war veteran, he lived with our mother, who had her own issues.
Returning home from a beer store he found her dead or dying on the front
lawn of her home. She had suffered a
fatal heart attack. Besieged with
guilt, he felt haunted by his inability to save her.
He ran, and became a vagabond or hobo, wandering across the United States
and ending up in Hawaii.
I
went to bed as normal and during the night had what I thought was a vivid dream.
I saw my brother camped in a remote sugar cane field in Hawaii.
A large fire was burning in front of his sleeping area, which I think was
a tent. My vantage point seemed to
be about 40 feet (12-13 meters) in the air at an angle providing a good view.
Two men approached him in the night and attacked him with a heavy duty
folding pocket knife. My brother was
knocked backwards by the slashing attack and jumped through the fire, sending of
burning burning embers flying high through the dark night.
I moved quickly and with ease through the air and closed the distance to
the participants to 10 feet (3 meters), and about head high,
There was confrontation and struggle and I thought my brother dead,
I
awoke, breathing heavily, my bed drenched in perspiration.
I was shaken and disturbed by what I saw.
This was so troubling to me that I convinced my employer to send me to
Hawaii on business. When my
responsibilities were met I went to Hawaii and met with 2 detectives.
I told them that I had some psychic ability and what I had seen.
They told me that my description was an exact match of what had indeed
taken place. My brother had not been
killed, and had come to the police department to file a complaint.
His statement and mine were an exact match.
What I
saw was not a dream, in my opinion, or a vision of the night.
I believe I travelled out of body and witnessed the attack.
How and why, I do not know. I have
been out of body before. I now believe it
is possible for the soul, spirit or the consciousness of a person to depart the
resting body and travel as needed. I
regard this experience as an out-of-body event.
Any associated medications or
substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of experience
difficult to express in words?
No
At the time of this experience, was
there an associated life threatening event?
Yes
What was your level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience?
Body asleep and resting, spirit awake,
alert and traveling.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
Yes, yet there were distinct
differences.
Did you experience a separation of
your consciousness from your body?
Yes Spirit form.
Having not seen a mirror, I can't comment on appearance.
I expect I was not visible to the naked eye.
What emotions did you feel during
the experience?
Fear and
terror, as well as excitement, sorrow and anguish.
Did you hear any unusual sounds or
noises?
No
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No
Did you see a light?
No
Did you meet or see any other
beings?
Yes
Brother and 2 attackers were visible to me.
They gave no indication of seeing me.
Did you experiment while out of the
body or in another, altered state?
No
Did you observe or hear anything
regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?
Yes Police report regarding attempted
murder was an exact match to my viewing experience, according to the detectives
that took the complaint.
Did you notice how your 5 senses
were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes
I was the same during the experience as I
am now, minus being in the flesh. I moved
through the air at will and gravity did not apply.
Did you have any sense of altered
space or time?
Yes I believe I witnessed a crime in
real time. I travelled through space in
the blink of an eye.
Did you have a sense of knowing,
special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you reach a boundary or
limiting physical structure?
No
Did you become aware of future
events?
No
Were you involved in or aware of a
decision regarding your return to the body?
No
Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the
experience that you did not have prior to the experience?
No
Did you have any changes of
attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes Not all dreams are simply dreams.
I believe much is possible with the spirit as the body sleeps.
How has the experience affected
your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?
This is but one of many
eye-opening experiences for me.
Witnessing murder is unpleasant, especially when you cannot intervene.
My view of life is different from most, especially those who live only in
the here and now. There is much more than
what we see and experience in the flesh.
Have you shared this experience
with others?
Yes Often.
Polite disbelief. They may
consider what I have said, discount it, disregard it or disbelieve it.
It does not bother me at all and I send you this so it can be shared and
others may learn.
What emotions did you experience
following your experience?
Fear, terror,
excitement, a sense of loss, and sorrow while viewing the apparent murder of a
family member.
What was the best and worst part of
your experience?
Worst was fear
and terror, best was learning my brother survived the criminal attack,
Is there anything else you would
like to add concerning the experience?
The police
report provided validation of out of body travel and/or psychic possibility.
I want to reinforce that this experience did not appear to be a dream.
Following the experience, have you
had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced
any part of the experience?
No
Did the questions asked and
information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your
experience?
Yes I believe so.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION 3175:
Background:
My
mother was an extremely psychic and spiritual person, so much so that she seemed
more attuned to that world than in her physical life on earth.
While I couldn't really comprehend her behavior when I was a child, I'm
now much more understanding. You
see, I inherited a small percentage of her gift and it is something I have to
deal with, just as she did. What
follows is an experience that I had early in life.
I now believe it was my first out of body experience.
I present this so that others may have an insight as to what is possible
in the human experience.
As
I recall, it was Christmas, 1953. I
was 6 and infatuated with archery, thanks to Robin Hood and other films I'd seen
at our local theater. Christmas
morning brought me a child's bow, suction-cup tipped arrows, an Indian War
bonnet and the usual archer's accessories.
Being all boy, I became an unholy terror in our home.
My parents took the bow and arrow set away until Spring, when I could use
them outdoors. Springtime arrived
and, after becoming bored shooting arrows outside, I took
them indoors again. That
didn't last as I shot at both people and things.
I found the limit of my parents tolerance.
My
mother took my toy and told me she would hide them, and that I couldn't have
them until I learned to behave. I
told her that she couldn't do that.
Somewhat amazed, she asked "Why not?"
"Because" I said, "All I have to do is go to sleep and I will dream where
they are. And then I will go and get
them." I do not recall her response.
At
age 6 I was so confident in my modest gift that I knew I could do what I said I
would do. So I went to our living
room sofa and took a nap. In my
dream state I searched the house, beginning in our unfinished attic.
I ended up in a spooky area of the basement, in a gloomy corner behind
our old-fashioned coal-fired furnace.
There were two very heavy-duty and rather large cardboard barrels.
There, in one, covered with an old tablecloth or sheet, was my bow.
I
awoke, my feet hit the floor, and I recovered my bow and arrows.
Then I went upstairs and passed my mother in the kitchen, and gave her
the "l told you so" look. She said
nothing that I recall. I think she
knew and understood what had happened.
For many years I recalled this experience as a dream.
Now, as a mature adult who has had a number of out of body experiences, I
believe this was a self-induced out of body experience using the sleep/dream
state as a vehicle to get out of body.
As I write this, I realize all my out of body experiences have been sleep
related.
This was the only time I went out of body with a purpose.
I hope
this information is useful to someone seeking to understand the capabilities of
human beings. There is more to us than
the eye beholds.
Any associated medications or
substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of experience
difficult to express in words?
No
At the time of this experience, was
there an associated life threatening event?
No
What was your level of
consciousness and alertness during the experience?
My body was in a sleep state.
The part of me that left my body was completely normal.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
Yes, intentionally so.
Did you experience a separation of
your consciousness from your body?
Yes I was completely normal in every
way, except for being located away from my physical body.
I have no idea what I looked like but do believe I was not visible to the
human eye.
What emotions did you feel during
the experience?
Normal.
I was persistently searching.
Did you hear any unusual sounds or
noises?
None.
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
Yes I was in my own home.
It was all familiar, except that in-body I avoided that rather eerie
basement.
Did you see a light?
No
Did you meet or see any other
beings?
No
Did you experiment while out of the
body or in another, altered state?
Yes
I moved
an old sheet or tablecloth to locate my hidden bow and arrows.
Whether they actually physically were moved I do not know.
Did you observe or hear anything
regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?
Yes Not as the question asks per se,
but I did get my hidden bow and arrows.
Did you notice how your 5 senses
were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes
I had vision or I couldn't have been
successful in searching. I can't speak to
the effectiveness of the other senses.
Did you have any sense of altered
space or time?
No
Did you have a sense of knowing,
special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you reach a boundary or
limiting physical structure?
No
Did you become aware of future
events?
No
Were you involved in or aware of a
decision regarding your return to the body?
Yes Only from the standpoint of
getting back to my body to recover my bow and arrows.
Did you have any psychic,
paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have
prior to the experience?
No
Did you have any changes of
attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes Enhanced confidence in my
abilities.
How has the experience affected
your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?
The biggest issue I have is that
people do not believe these things are possible.
Since I have done these things I know it is possible.
I tend to feel that disbelievers are missing out on a part of human
reality, which means there is a gap in their knowledge and understanding.
Has your life changed specifically
as a result of your experience?
No
Have you shared this experience
with others?
Yes Almost always disbelief.
What emotions did you experience
following your experience?
Continued
confidence.
What was the best and worst part of
your experience?
I got my bow.
The only negative is that people think you a liar or mad.
I am way past being concerned about negatives.
Is there anything else you would
like to add concerning the experience?
No.
Following the experience, have you
had any other events in your life, medications or substances which reproduced
any part of the experience?
Yes Sleep is a useful tool in getting
out of body.
Did the questions asked and
information you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your
experience?
Yes There really isn't much to
explain. I believe I have an inherited
gift.
Please offer any suggestions you
may have to improve this questionnaire.
None
