Norma B's Experience
|
Experience description:
I had been in prayer, reading
my Bible when I fell asleep. A man came to me and motioned with his hand for me
to follow him. We crossed over an arched bridge to a wonderful place that I
never wanted to leave. This man didn't speak, he gestured and I knew what he
meant. We walked along a ditch bank where the soil was rich and moist but not
muddy. We stopped and he motioned with his arms. I knew that he meant for me
to step back, the ground was going to open. I looked down and the ground
separated. Below my feet was a beautifully clear pool of water, clear all the
way down without a muddy bottom. I saw a fish and as it moved through the water
sprinkles of colors rippled through the water which I could feel through my
body.
It was wonderful and I didn't
want to return. But the man put up his hand and motioned that I had to go
back. I argued, No, I don't want to go back and shook my head and repeated it.
He said again, "You have to go back". I began to slowly float down to my
body. I pushed at the air trying to stay up but I kept sinking anyway. As hard
as I struggled I found myself back in my body anyway. I jumped off the bed
really upset that I had to come back. This was in 1974 before I had ever heard
of this type of experience. I'm convinced there is another existence out there. Any
associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience?
No
Was
the kind of experience difficult to express in words?
No
I can
describe it but it seems diminished. It was an overwhelming sensation of
wonderfulness with no doubt about wanting to remain there. I
At
the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening
event?
No
What
was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
completely normal
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
It was real as
life.
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes
I
felt normal until the sensation of floating down to my body on the bed. I
struggled to remain up by pushing in the air like swimming. I felt some
resistance but I continued to sink back into my body. I wanted to remain and
fought hard to do so.
What
emotions did you feel during the experience?
I was very
upset and immediately swung myself off the bed. I couldn't believe I was back in
my body but there was no way to remain once he pushed at me in the air with his
hand and told me I had to return.
Did
you hear any unusual sounds or noises?
It was a
feeling of wonderfulness at being there and everything I looked at. I felt the
colors as they rippled through the water and I felt flutters through my body as
I saw the fish swim.
