Experience description:

My experience occurred between last year, my mom and dad (who I am no longer in contact with, due to abusive behaviors) we're having guests over, I remember being upset that I had to sleep in the living room, on the floor while the guests got to have my room

I made a very big fuss to my mother about it and I awoke my dad, my dad in turn got angry and slapped me across the face

I had a fight with my dad over him slapping me and my dad became physically violent, after the fight I was incredibly upset, both that my dad didn't care and also that my mother was allowing it to continue, at that moment my instincts took over me and I grabbed the pillow resting near our living room door

I suffocated myself and I was upset when I had realized that it was not working, I was out of breath but I was still alive

When I tried to go to sleep, I felt my heart stop beating, my body was shutting down but instead of dread being the first emotion, an incredibly calm sensation took over me

I remember at that time, looking into a tunnel, the brightest tunnel I had ever seen in my life, I realized I was dead and I knew I was dead

But I did not go into the tunnel because I knew it was reincarnation, there was nobody to say it to me, I just knew that it was not my time, I had no light beings who came to communicate with me, although I did not feel alone, I also knew I had business to do in this life, I no longer felt my heart beating nor my body, I was splitting away from it, I told myself 'I am not dying, I am coming back, I have things to do!'

Right as I said that, I awoke and I adjusted my breathing, my heart was beating once more, I was very happy to be back on earth, I missed that realm but I was not unhappy to be back rather I knew it was not my time yet, I was far too young and had far too much to experience

Prior to this; I had a before-death experience in which a woman guided me and showed me my relatives and those relative to my life before I came into this world, she wore a tall gown draped over her and I was sat down in some sort of projectile screen, certain memories I would physically go into and experience, one of the most predominate of these that I remember was remembering and forgetting to make a paper airplane, I was confused by it's mechanics and I was frustrated that I had suddenly forgotten to do the very thing I knew before, I was shown in that realm my aunts, my uncles and my cousins. That was right before I gained consciousness.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No 

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     It's incredibly difficult to explain, what I experienced there is unlike any word the English dictionary can describe

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      When I felt my heart stop beating, looking into the tunnel

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   I felt more at peace and that I had a higher purpose.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No   I saw a tunnel

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   Yes, I saw an incredibly bright light

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No

I came to a decision by myself that I would come back, even if it was going to be difficult

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I shared it with my friends the day after, who were also spiritual, they were amazed  but I am uncertain if it affected their life or changed it in anyway.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Yes   I saw and read about NDES, I never thought I would experience one myself. The knowledge might've contributed to me knowing I was dead and therefore choosing not to reincarnate or go into the tunnel

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   I viewed it as real, it felt real.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   I view it as real because I know it was real, nothing has ever come close to what I experienced, both in my before-death experience and near death experience.
