I�m writing to share my account in hopes that someone out there may have experienced the same thing.  If so, I know this will comfort me in some way that�s hard to explain.  I didn�t see angels or demons.  I didn�t see mysterious light of any sort.  I didn�t sense divinity or damnation.  Honestly, there was nothing Biblical or Horrific about the experience.

Basically, as I sat in the ICU alone in the bed hooked up to machines I closed my eyes and still saw the room.  I opened them again because I couldn�t tell if my eyes were closed or open for a moment.  When I closed them again I saw 9 silent men standing around my bed wearing clothes I can�t describe.  There were 3 men on each side of the bed and 3 men at the foot of the bed.

Today, I often wonder was there 3 other men behind me that I didn�t see.  Now, the closest I can tell you about the center man on the left side of the bed is that he wore what I can only describe as a Japanese courtesan mask with a veil and a beautiful horn decoration was on top of the mask bent back over his head.

When I focused my attention on the man on my left at the foot of the bed it seemed we instantly moved together into a field of sorts like I�ve never seen.  I could smell water.  There were bugs similar to lightning bugs throughout the field, but it was daytime and they definitely weren�t fireflies.

I turned my head and my attention went to another man.  We moved into a room together somehow that appeared to be similar to a medieval construction but the inlays of metal of the wooden chair, he now sat in, seemed futuristic.  He was eating what appeared to be a leg of meat.

I heard a noise and my eyes opened.  The TV and Camera in the corner of the ICU room turned on.  A doctor on the screen asked if I was okay and said he was monitoring from Missouri.  I got the sense that the men had a purpose.  I sensed there IS a serious challenge ahead of me.

I also have the strong feeling that those men are from different parts of all existence.  I don�t believe they are ghosts and I didn�t sense all of them were human although they mostly appeared to be.  They were emotionless.  There was no smiles and not one frowned or sneered.  BUT, they looked at me.  I saw them and they watched me.

So, I�m posting this on several NDE blogs in hopes to reach another with a similar experience.  Mind you, there is a small yet significant other thing I witnessed that I am keeping to myself.  If you experienced this then you know I am telling the truth and I will know you are too.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Yes  I was in severe Diabetes Keto Acidosis (DKA).  My glucose was over 440.

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     We don't have the words in our language to describe it.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    The whole time I think, but I'm not sure.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      Normal consciousness and alertness   N/a

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   No  

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   A strong sense of purpose!  A strong sense of challenge.  I now know we prepare and pay here before we go...  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   No  

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No

I was moved to another place briefly.
