Marguerite's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was in the car with my daughter, her boyfriend, and my husband. The boyfriend was driving and my husband and I were in the back seat. We were on our way to see the medical school to which my daughter was recently accepted. She was explaining to us the length of time her education would take to complete and to hear her better, I slid over next to my husband on the driver's side of the car.
Suddenly, I had a terrible feeling of impending danger. It was so strong that I could no longer concentrate on my daughter's words. I felt that car was going to come through the median and hit us head on. I also felt that only my daughter would be killed. I knew that this had happened in a dream or some such thing. I sat up and watched the traffic coming towards us on the opposite side
of the road. I did not share my feelings with anyone as I knew they would think I was crazy.
We traveled a short way, perhaps a mile or so, when we came upon a car that had crossed the median and had gone head first across the highway over the guard rail. I was relieved in that I thought we had "dodged the bullet." However, I was happy to find out we did not have to go back on same road. Does this experience sound as though it could be real? I am relieved, but frightened. I am a sensible educated woman with no previous experience with such things.
