Experience description:

I woke up in the middle of the night.  My bedroom was totally illuminated, but there was no source of light.  I didn't see any shadows.  I got up and went to the window, but there was no source of light.  I went to the window several times.  I laid back down on the bed and tried to figure it out, but then the light went out on it's own.  The light had a swirl to it as it went out.  I rolled over and faced the wall.  There was a ball of light on the wall about a foot in diameter, about 3 feet above the floor.  The light was going from maximum diameter to zero in about 1 second and returning to maximum diameter in 1 second.  After a few cycles, the light went out and never returned.  Nothing more took place.

I habitually get low blood sugar during the night.  I firmly believe that that may have been the cause.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   No

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?      From the time I woke until the ball of light went out.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?   It was disturbing because these things that occurred were not within reality.  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   The light that illuminated my bedroom.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No

I don't know if that applies to what I did experience.  What I did observe and experience were outside of normal reality.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Uncertain   I went through the experience as stated and then it shut down and went away.

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I put more value upon life itself.

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Yes   I became aware of things before they happened.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     Mainly my knowledge of what happens after death.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I told people about it soon after it happened, but they were negative about it so I quit telling about it.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Uncertain   I had dreams of strange things, and I read about peoples' experiences.

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   It was totally different from anything I had ever thought of.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   I was wide awake and made an effort to observe what was going on.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I'm a bit more docile.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?   It was there very clearly.  I cannot explain what happened, I just know that it did.
