Lonny F's Experience
|
Experience description:
When I was about 20
years old I decided that it was time to do a trip back to Coronado, California
and visit a couple of very good friends I had left behind. These two friends
were both identical twins who I grew up with since we were all about 5 years
old. I left California with my family at age 16 and hadn't seen them since.
When I arrived in
Coronado it was already late in the afternoon. Both my friends knew I was tired
so they thought it would be pretty cool to just rent a movie and chill at one of
their friends house for the night. This friend of theirs was house sitting for
someone he knew so we would have the place to ourselves for a few nights.
The house was an older
two story building. We hung out downstairs and watched our movie and reminisced
about childhood memories. Everyone had worked that day so I wasn't the only one
getting tired. We made plans on what to do the following day then got ready to
go to bed. We all talked about sleeping arrangements. The twins each took a room
upstairs and their friend took the master room. I was quite content with making
a bed downstairs and told them that I actually preferred the floor.
This is where things
get weird. After making my bed on the floor I lay down and began to adjust my
pillow. I stared off at a wall and then began to hear what I thought was a
conversation possibly coming from a different room. I focused on where the sound
was coming from and I realized that it was actually closer then I had thought.
Just then the voice said, "You can hear me can't you". I was starting to freak
out at this point. I instinctively started to use a technique that we all used
as a child when we thought that a monster was under our beds. We pretended that
it wasn't there in hope that it would just go away.
Well the voice didn't
go away instead it became more persistent. I decided that I was probably
dreaming with my eyes open so I decided to play along. I engaged the voice in
mental conversation. I never spoke out loud. Thus began one of the most
controversial conversations of my life. I asked the being who he was. He was
hesitant, than he answered that he couldn't remember his name . I asked him if
he knew where he was or where he came from. He said that he had been here for a
very long time but didn't know where he came from. He knew that he had lived
once before. I told him that I believed that I was dreaming and that none of
this was real. He decided to try and convince me. He said ask me any question
you want and I'll give you my best answer.
To this day I can't
recall the full conversation but I do remember some highlights:
ME: why don't you go
into the light?
SPIRIT: (very confused
and impossible for him to understand what I was talking about)
ME: are there others
with you?
SPIRIT: there are
others yes, but they tend to do their own thing, we don't interact much. Most
spend the majority of their existence trying to get the attention of the living
ME: why do you want so
much to talk to me?
SPIRIT: I've been here
a long time. Every now and then I think that someone has seen or heard me but
you are the first. You must be very careful of other spirits. If they believe
that you have seen or heard them then they will never stop trying. They will
attach themselves to you. That is all they want, they only want to be noticed
and seen.
ME: why is it that I
can hear you know?
SPIRIT: I saw that you
were about to go to sleep. There is a point between being awake and being asleep
that allows some people to see or hear us.
ME: ok, I always hear
how children are more likely to see you guys, why is that?
SPIRIT: some people are
more open to picking us up. You for example are more sensitive than others.
Children are the most sensitive and open to us. Try to remember back to when you
were a child yourself. Remember how onions were hot and everything tasted so
much more intense. Well you lose this as you grow older. The onion isn't hot
anymore.
ME: ok, so why can
people see you more so in certain areas then in others?
SPIRIT: I've been
around a very long time so I can roam very far. New spirits tend to stay very
close to where they died. Usually as they become stronger they can roam further.
ME: what do you mean
stronger?
SPIRIT: when we first
die we are weak, after a while we learn to use the energy around us. This energy
can help us do things. I have been around a pretty long time this helps me to
allow you to hear me.
ME: I still don't
understand.
SPIRIT: all humans give
off a certain amount of energy. A powerful spirit can absorb this energy and use
it at a later time. The stronger the spirit the more energy they can store and
the longer they can store it. A new weak spirit must use it right away, if they
can use it at all. When you open a door energy is released, an experienced
spirit can place his hand on the door knob with you and absorb this residual
energy. Later he can use this energy to open the door back up.
ME: so if I carry a
candlestick across a room you could walk with me, absorb the energy, than later
move the candlestick on your own?
SPIRIT: yes, even weeks
later. But only the most powerful of us can do this. The human needs to also be
receptive. It's hard to explain but it's an important element.
ME: but why are all
those ghost sightings almost always at graveyards, during lightning, and at
night.
SPIRIT: there are other
forms of energy that we can use to make ourselves visibly. This energy is always
around us in small amounts. During electrical storms it is stronger. Spirits
often times stay around the televisions in your home in an attempt to use the
small amount of this energy coming from the screen. The example you used is
perfect for this. You have the energy from the weather, a spirit that stays
close to where they know people will visit (graveyard), and a tired driver in
that middle state just before sleep. But remember not all humans will see this
and a lot of times it's in vain.
My conversation
continued for many minutes. I started to ask questions about God and heaven. For
some reason he had no idea what I was talking about. It was as if he had never
heard of such a thing. He had no idea of how to leave where he was or why he
would want to.
I started to get a
mental image of the spirit but I couldn't yet see him with my eyes. He wore a
lot of brown and had a beard. The mental image I was picking up showed him
smoking what looked like a pipe. For some reason I started to get a very uneasy
feeling at this point so I decide to pretend that once again I was only dreaming
and that none of this was real.
Up till now my eyes
where open this whole time. I closed my eyes and tried to continue on to full
sleep. The spirit started getting very annoyed. His anger kept building. He
tried everything. He asked questions, made accusations, begged and begged for my
attention. Finally there was silence. I thought that he had finally left.
Relieved I rolled over and started trying to get comfortable for sleep. Down by
my feet was a canister vacuum. The hose was rubbing up against my feet so I
kicked it away with my foot...with incredibly strength the spirit kicked back
with such force that I spun around 180 degrees and stood straight up. I was wide
awake now and in complete shock. The spirit must have done just as he said they
could do. He absorbed enough energy to hit me so hard that my leg ached for days
after.
I never spoke with him
again after that kick. Looking back I was very thankful that I didn't allow
myself to get to far involved. Was I dreaming with my eyes open or was there
something more. I never really knew anything about spirits or ghosts but after
that day I read and tried to learn enough to understand. I don't think I'll ever
understand.
