Experience description:

I was scheduled for an EUS at the University Hospital in Columbia.  There was nothing special about my case, was just a routine EUS. After the general anesthesia, I don't recall much until right before I woke up in recovery.  My blood pressure was abnormally low at the time of recovery with readings below 90/60. I did not technically die.

I was sitting beside my body and could see my Mom out of my peripheral vision.  She was saying something to me but I couldn't hear her.  I looked to my right and there was what I think was either an angel or the Holy Spirit!  It had a humanoid shape and it went from being seated to standing and back to being seated. (I could not see any "chair" that was being used)  It was most definitely a divine being!  There was the MOST brilliant, calming, beautiful light that radiated out of its face and body.  I have never seen a light like this before.  It had no face - just light.  It didn't "speak" to me but it spoke to me.  I was "told" I had a choice to either stop smoking and live longer or not and die but that I was not going to be judged for either decision.  I was given an "impression" of my soon to be Granddaughter (my daughter was not pregnant and is not pregnant that we know of) The divine one and its light was very comforting.  I have never felt so accepted and cared for in my life!  The being then motioned with its hand along the length of my body (the hand had no fingers- just a thumb like extension and all light) and I knew I had to leave and go back.  I didn't want to but I did because it told me to. It had no "sex" but I got a distinct masculine feeling.  I turned from it and then was in my body and could hear all the people in the room trying to get me to wake up.  I couldn't open my eyes for awhile and the image of the being was very prominent within my vision almost like an "eyeball burn" after you look at the sun.

 At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Uncertain  No one told me that I flat lined.  My blood pressure was dangerously low towards the end of the surgical procedure and during recovery period.

 Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     There really aren't enough words to adequately describe the feelings or the beauty and comfort of the being that attended to me.

 At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?    When the being motioned to me to go back to my body.

 How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      Normal consciousness and alertness  

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   My vision during the experience was one of tunnel vision, almost.

 Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.   I could only "hear" the sounds of the recovery room.  Everything else was like ESP or Telepathy

 Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   Uncertain   I could hear the people in the recovery room, mostly my mom.

 What emotions did you feel during the experience?   happiness, comfort, joy, no pain, no sadness, total and utter acceptance  

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   No  

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   The being with me was MADE of unearthly light.

 Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I was next to the most beautiful and peaceful divine being made purely of a light that radiated out every part of its "body" but most noticeable was the light coming from its "face".

 Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   Yes   I believe that I was visited by The Holy Spirit. the third facet of our Lord and Savior, God.

 Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No  

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No  

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
 I was at the "door to heaven". I don't' know how I knew this, I just did.

 Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   No

 Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about myself or others
I understood about my OWN situation but no one else's.

 Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes
Im not sure exactly what it was but it looked almost like a desk! The divine being was sitting by it and my body was lying at the base of it and I was sitting on the "floor" next to my head.

 Did you come to a border or point of no return?   I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was "sent back" against my will

 Did scenes from the future come to you?  Scenes from my personal future 
It wasn't so much a scene - just a thought impression from this being.  I woke up and "knew" stuff.  Some have checked out and some are still to be seen.

 During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (�life after death�)?   Uncertain   I am a Christian and I believe in Heaven and Hell.  the being I encountered was DIVINE so that would suggest to me that there is a life after our physical death.

 During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   The Divine being!  that is all I needed to see.

 During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that a mystical universal connection or unity/oneness either does (or does not) exist?   No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life�s meaning or purpose?   Yes  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding earthly life�s difficulties, challenges, or hardships?   No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness regarding love?   Yes   That humans can not even come close to unconditional love and the God truly DOES love us unconditionally.

 During your experience, did you encounter any other specific information / awareness that you have not shared in other questions that is relevant to living our earthly lives?   Yes   God is Real, The Bible is True and Jesus really did rise from his death and ascend to heaven and The Trinity is three separate beings.

 Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   I knew that I was "ok" but that my next decisions would determine my course. I "knew" that I was going to have a granddaughter named Treva  and she would call me "Nomie".

 What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I have always been taught that The Trinity was one.  I do not believe that any longer.  The Holy Spirit was most definitely its own being and had its own job.

 How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   I wish I could draw this being.  

My experience directly resulted in:   Large changes in my life

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I believe that the Trinity are three distinct beings.  Jesus Christ was and is a seperate entity from "God" and so is the Holy Spirit.

 Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?   the motioning of the divine/spirit being to my body but I don't know why

 Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Uncertain   I get feelings of things that are gonna happen.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  My husband - 24 hours.  he believed me.

 Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   Yes   I had read articles on it.

 What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   I knew what was wrong with me medically before the doctor told me!!! I didn't need anything else to convince me it was real. If the biopsies come back malignant then I will have even more proof.

 What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real  

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   I love deeper and sweeter and I don't let the little shit get to me!

 Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes   My husband and I are starting a ministry for Veterans and I am planning on taking classes to teach Creationism.

 At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   No     

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?   No   You can't really describe it...it is too beautiful for words.
