Experience description:

The first one happened when my son was a newborn.  I was very relaxed, and very tired.  The room was very dark.  My son was sleeping in a crib in the room with me.  I remember thinking I needed to go to him, but he was sleeping.  I felt I should just check on him, to be sure.  As I became more aware of these thoughts, I realized that I was paralyzed.  I could not move a muscle.  I could not speak.  I was very frightened.  I felt what at first I thought might be a ghost move directly through my abdomen.  (I was laying on my back).  It felt scary, not good.  I felt I must arise.  I must scream to my husband.  I felt trapped in a strange time warp, that only existed for me.  I finally was able to let a small amount of sound come from my mouth. slowly slowly, I was able to make the sound louder until I could sit up and call out.

I was very confused and "out of it" for a while.  I tried to explain to my husband, but it sounded as if I was just scared.  It was a very very real experience.  I felt something, a current, something, a spirit, pass through me, and towards my son.  I thought maybe it was some sort of alien or something that had control of my body.  That one was scary, and like I said, I didn't actually leave my body.

The second one happened about four years later.  This time I was pregnant.  I was also laying with my four year old son, trying to get him to sleep.  Again, I was very relaxed, but not sleeping, trying to actually stay awake, so that I could go clean up the house after he fell asleep.  Again, I became paralyzed, but this time, it was less intense.  I was aware that I couldn't really move, but before I could think about it , I was zipping, literally, through the halls, down the stairs, hovering just below the ceiling, I thought I might bump my head.  I looked down and thought, what a mess the living room looked like from this angle.  I thought about my body up in the bed and thought I better get back to it, and should I check in with my husband, but no, that would be spying.  So I went back to my body on the bed.  My eyes opened and I thought, I can't wait to go tell my husband about this, but I sounded so foolish.  I couldn't stop thinking about it.  so the next night I wanted it to happen again.   I don't think I could relax enough.  I thought maybe I left about ten feet from my body, but it was as if  I was hooked to a rubber band and got snatched back to my body before the fun started.   It's never happened again.
