Lara S's Experience
|
Experience description:
This past summer, I was awakened in the middle of the night and in my half-dream
state, I saw my grandfather sitting at the foot of my bed.
He was in the form of a spirit, I could only see his outline made of
glistening sparkles of light (impossible to describe) but somehow I knew it was
him, and oddly, I wasn't afraid (I guess because I thought it was a dream?) He
kissed my forehead. I felt the
love-- it was gentle and fatherly and somewhat sad.
Then I suppose I fell asleep again.
In the morning I remembered this and thought it was weird but assumed it
was a dream and didn't think anything more of it.
As
far as I knew, my grandfather was alive and well at that time.
In reality, he was in his bed at home dying.
Someone was supposed to be bringing him food and neglected to do it (he
was in his late 90s and could no longer drive.)
He was found and sent to the hospital, where he stayed in intensive care
and then hospice for a few weeks until he died.
During that time, he rallied a bit and we thought he would get better, but his
last days were spent in a non-responsive state.
The last time I saw him, he was lying in the hospital bed unable to speak or
open his eyes. I talked to him and
said my good-byes-- when I did that, I had a very intense feeling of love wash
over me-- like a spiritual hug. Like
my soul had been hugged with warm love.
Someone unseen in the room had hugged me, I am sure of that.
I don't know if it was his spirit or possibly an angel or deceased family
member.
Anyway, I believe that my grandfather visited me in spirit form to say good-bye
shortly before his death.

I thought it was a dream because
it was in the middle of the night, but it was actually quite lucid
Did you experience a separation of
your consciousness from your body?
Uncertain When he kissed me on the forehead,
I think I may have been out of body too. It felt as if I were sitting up next to
him-- if that makes sense.
What emotions did you feel during
the experience?
None that I can
remember, just the love which is the type of love we don't normally experience
on earth. Pure and honest and just LOVE.

Hm, best is:
it was a special experience to be treasured?
Worst: No worst
Is there anything else you would
like to add concerning the experience?
Grandpa has
communicated in other ways (I THINK).
There have been little things that happen that make me think so.
One morning I woke up to someone tapping my shoulder and I think it was
him (He is a bit of a prankster). There is other stuff too but it's kind of too
bizarre to mention here.

No

experience?
Yes
Please offer any suggestions you
may have to improve this questionnaire.
Y'all are doing
a good job in putting this out there. I
think most people have experiences like these but there is a stigma in talking
about it.
