Experience description:

My experience begins with the night before last.  On Sunday, March 10th, I woke up every 15-20 minutes the entire night.  I could not understand why I was experiencing such difficulty falling asleep as I never have issues with this.  Especially since I had played in a 4 hour volleyball tournament that day and my body felt physically exhausted.  On Monday, I followed my regular routine which consisted of going to the office, working an 8 hour day and working out for an hour after work.  I ate a hearty dinner and took a nap.  I woke up at 11pm and could not fall back asleep so I began to study the next level in an online French lesson I'm currently in the middle of.  Roughly around 2am this morning I began to feel tired so I decided to go to bed.

I was positioned with my face and stomach facing downward and my back facing the ceiling when I started to feel strange.  An intense tingling sensation came over me and it spread throughout my entire body.  Initially, I thought maybe I had a limb in an awkward position and it was simply falling asleep.  This quickly changed when I attempted to move and realized I was completely paralyzed.  I had my eyes open and facing a bookcase in my room when on my second attempt in moving my hand to lift myself up, I pushed myself away from my body.  I slowly began floating upward and was completely mid air looking down at myself in my bed.  Every detail in my room and on myself was completely accurate.  From my pj's, to the position I fell asleep in, the placement of my tablet beside my pillow prior to falling asleep - everything!  The only difference I found in my room was the location of my bedroom door.  Once reality hit that I was experiencing an out of body experience, I was overcome by fear.  I began to hear music in the distance and started to panic.  It was a song I had never heard before but the genre was definitely classical.  I started to look around and noticed that everything had darkened.  I did not feel that there was anything in particular causing a threat to me but I couldn't control feeling very uneasy.  I began to trying to lower myself out of the sky onto the floor so that I could walk towards the door.  Right at the entry of the door, I ran into a large creature that is very difficult for me to describe.  I knew instantly that this "thing" was not a friendly entity but it did not attack me or come towards me.  It simply stared and smiled at me in a creepy and horrifying way.  I was petrified and wanted to run for my life but every reaction in this "dreamy" state if you will was slowed down.  I walked over to my body on my bed, shook myself and woke up.

I have never had an experience like this in my entire life and it wasn't one that could have lasted any longer than 5 minutes.  Yet this was so mind boggling and intense for me that I had to do a little research and see what may have caused this.  I'm not sure if it will ever happen again but this tiny little experience has impacted me in such a way that I know I will never forget it....it has caused me to question reality and what is beyond...
