Experience description:

I was going through a stressful separation caused by beatings. Was asleep on sofa in middle of the night. Was very stressed and sleeping fitfully. All of a sudden, I heard bells ringing, I remember thinking , in my dream state that like the movie, when you hear a bell, and angel gets its wings then immediately thought I was being stupid. In my dream, I was calling myself stupid! Then I was in a room with everyone wearing black. People were in the room that I hadn’t seen for more than 10-15 years but I immediately know who they are but it didn’t register to me their relationship to me. Many there I didn't recognize. I realized that I was at a funeral but was not sure whose . Then I woke from the dream. It seemed a baffling dream. Fell asleep after an hour or so, then reawoke to my phone ringing. Went and picked the phone up and my brother was crying hard, sobbing that ' Daddy’s dead, our Dad is dead'. I had no surprise, like I already knew. He told me details, that Daddy had had a heart attack and died about 1-2 hours before — right when I was having my dream of the funeral. Then it hits me—-those in the dream, they were all my fathers family. His sisters and their families. I had been dreaming about my father. He and my mother were divorced, and no one from her side associated with him any longer.  Also I had had premonitions before— one aunt announced at Easter dinner that they were expecting a baby — I was about 8 and said out loud 'that baby won’t live to be born' very matter-of-factly, without even looking up from my plate— everyone stopped and gasped, my parents admonished me for saying such a terrible thing. Their baby was stillborn 6 months later.  My brother was late getting home from a date, I wax about 12. I said ' he’s been in an accident' really not knowing where it came from in me. Just as I finished saying it, we got the call that yes, he had been in an accident with a semi truck - luckily he survived. After that, all my family insisted that whenever I get premonitions or whatever you call them-/ not to say a word, no one wanted to know!

I can only remember having a handful of dreams in my whole life

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   In the last 15 years, I have faced death due to severe medical issues (brain tumor, complications, pulmonary emboli)- I never feared death , just acceptance that it was like another day or event

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     Everyone knows that I get feelings or premonitions - even with COVID. I brought to my husbands attention the days after was first brought to medias attention before even a name for it, I told him that 'This will be a world wide even causing major deaths, like the black plague, had his buy thousands of dollars in supplies like face masks etc'. He discounted me,  but later admitted I told him everything that COVID would bring.
