Katherine B's Experience
|
Experience description:
My husband said goodbye
to me as he usual does in the morning before heading to work. I was fully
awake. It was around 7a.m. I put my glasses on and looked at the clock and
decided I would try to sleep a bit more but found it hard to relax. I laid
there with my glasses still on with my eyes shut but definitely awake. I was
thinking how hard it was for me to fall asleep these past few years and all my
husband has to do is sit in his chair and tilt his head back and boom he's
asleep. As I lay there I noticed some type of static electric type charge in my
covers sort of repelling my sheet blanket with my upper heavy one away from each
other. The heavy blanket lifted and started to slide down off of me then I
didn't feel any heavy cover on me at all but the sheet was still on me. I
opened my eyes and found my heavy blanket now completely off of me and pulled it
back on me again. As I laid there I thought, boy I hope that doesn't happen
again!
Well the same electric
type feeling came back and this time it was on my body too. At that point is
where something weird happened. All of a sudden I was lifting from the bed and
then in a different place altogether and it was real in everyway. I felt
everything and the background noise during the latter part of it was like a
radio that had about three stations crossing over each other with static and
garbled noises. I went all over the place sometimes walking and sometimes
floating. In buildings and by streams and outdoor things. I went to a place
with a tree and there were two dogs there. One ran up to me and it was BB the
dog I used to have here that died violently by a neighbor boy shooting him
multiple times with his .22 rifle. This was about five years ago that he died.
I petted him and his fur was smooth. I thought to myself, boy I had forgotten
how smooth and soft BB's fur was. He seemed fit and happy to see me and was
playful. Then I went indoors in a room and floated up toward the ceiling. I
stopped at the ceiling. I thought wow, maybe I am dead and got frightened
because all this time I didn't think that thought at all. Just as I thought
that thought some arms from behind me hugged me. It wasn't scary but comforting
and loving. I asked who it was a few times who was hugging me. since I couldn't
see her behind me. It was clear this was a woman though even though I didn't
see her. The woman's voice said she was Lynnette or Lonnette. Then that was it
and I was in my bed again. I guess it was a dream entirely but it didn't seem
like a dream at all. I do not know of any Lynnette and have no relatives by
that name. I have asked a few close friends and no one knows or has known a
person by such a name. I found out my uncle who is not expected to live much
longer had a first wife with the name Loraine from what I am told but that is
the closest I have found to a connection. I don't know why this happened to me
or any messages or meanings of wisdom or future events.
Any
associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the
experience?
No
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
that you did not have prior to the experience?
Uncertain I suppose it is too soon. It just happened a day or two ago.
Was
the kind of experience difficult to express in words?
No
At
the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening
event?
Uncertain My uncle at this date is very close to death but he still has not
passed yet.
What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
Pretty alert. I thought I was totally awake.
Was the experience dream like in any way?
No
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Uncertain When I tried to see who was hugging me, I looked at my shoulders
and I was a body form. The person hugging me was not however. She was
invisible to my eyes. I didn't seem to be wearing cloths.
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
Good
feelings and feelings of confidence. Then scared feelings when I thought that
perhaps I was dead now.
Did
you hear any unusual sounds or noises?
The
radio station static sounds. As if three or four stations were crossing over
one another. None of the stations sounds I could understand as it was garbled
and intertwined.

Yes I saw the dogs and also some people that were in one of the buildings.
Did
you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?
No
Did
you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience
that could be verified later?
No
Did
you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they
different?
Yes That is what made this seem so real.
Did
you have any sense of altered space or time?
Yes I can't explain it too well. But from being in my bed to those other
places would be impossible.
Did
you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or
purpose?
Uncertain I just had a sense of confidence and being free. Sort of
feeling superhuman.
Did
you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?
Yes When I floated to the ceiling in that room, I could not go past the
ceiling. My back and head were stopped by the ceiling. It was like a helium
balloon in a room up on the ceiling.

No
Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the
body?
No
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
No
How
has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices?
Career choices?
It
has me perplexed as to why this happened and for what purpose. I don't know. I
like answers but here there is none.
Has
your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Uncertain It is too soon to know. Right now I would say slightly
Have you shared this experience with others?
Yes Some friends and close family members
What emotions did you experience following your experience?
Puzzlement
What was the best and worst part of your experience?
Best
was floating around places and seeing BB. The worst was thinking oh my maybe I
am dead.
Is
there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
Would like to know if any of this sounds like a OBE and possibilities on why it
happened to me spontaneously.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes
Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.
Maybe this one. Has any other unexplainable event ever happened in your life?
If so explain. There maybe a linkage or other seemingly unrelated strange
events that may indicate further studies regarding OBE.
