As the tunnel is getting closer, the tunnel floor becomes rougher, it is brown, with shadows as if they were gravel. This rough floor should be around 15 meters to the light. The first time I saw this tunnel, I got scared and left, I could wake up normally, but at other times I let me to be floating around to see what was further ahead, I could decide to leave or stay. But when I arrived at this rough ground I always woke up taking a shock, it was a shock for some 30-40 seconds through the whole body, and during the shock I could not move or scream, and when the shock passed I felt weakened . At the end of the tunnel there was a shadow, I could not recognize what it was, but it looked like a shape of a heart viewed from the front, but it was only the shape, because it was black, and very bright behind, so that I could not recognize what it was.

At the time of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?   Uncertain  I was in my room and that happened when I was sleeping.

Was the experience difficult to express in words?  Yes     It is hard to explain the feeling of peace, when I was in the tunnel, is like everything was more real, the light brighter, the things prettier and clear.

At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of consciousness and alertness?            When I was in the tunnel, floating, there was a feeling of peace, tranquillity.

How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?      More consciousness and alertness than normal   It was like I was more aware and sensible to the things around me, feeling deeply the moment, and the silence was very profound and impressive.

Please compare your vision during the experience to your everyday vision that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.    Everything seemed more beautiful, there was not much to see, but everything seemed more pleasant to the eye and the awareness more accurate, more real, the light was brighter and didn�t hurt the eyes, it was pleasant to look at.

Please compare your hearing during the experience to your everyday hearing that you had immediately prior to the time of the experience.    The silence was absolute, soundless, and my hearing was very accurate.

Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during a time that your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?   No   

What emotions did you feel during the experience?    I felt special, like I was in a place that no one had been able to go before, in a level of gigantic awareness.

Did you pass into or through a tunnel?   Yes   The tunnel was about 30 metres when I entered it, and I was entering it very slowly, I wasn�t able to control the speed, I was not walking, it was like I was floating towards the light. When I got near the wrinkled floor that was about 15 meters until reach the light, I wake up taking a shock all over my body. That floor was as if it had some blocks, with straight corners and some crooked, the colour was dark brown, with shadows.

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   It was a very strong and pleasant light at the end of the tunnel.

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   No

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No   

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No   

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No   

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   Some unfamiliar and strange place
I had the feeling of being aware but in another place.

It was like I was part of only one thing, was a feeling of friendship with things, a delightful feeling.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   Yes
When I began to get closer, the ground became wrinkled, with big wrinkles, one foot wide, and when I came near that floor, something pulled me, and I wake up taking a shock.

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   I came to a barrier that I was not permitted to cross; or was sent back against my will

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (�life after death�)?   Yes   I felt when I came back there were 2 different places where my consciousness could be, however in that place it was even more real.

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Uncertain   There was something at the end of the tunnel but I couldn�t realize what it was. My feeling was I belong to that something.

During your experience, did you encounter any other specific information / awareness that you have not shared in other questions that is relevant to living our earthly lives?   Yes   There is another place where our consciousness can be fully aware, it�s a place inside us, but I can not say that is physical, honestly I believe that is another dimension.

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   I didn�t know what a NDE was, it touched me deeply. Only a few days ago I talked with a psychologist friend of mine and she told me what it was. Until that, the experience made me want to search answers about other levels of consciousness and try to understand religions.

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of th        It touched me deeply in every sense, it seems it was more real than our reality, with more profound senses and a more accurate perception, and a feeling of extremely beautiful peace.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:    The tranquillity about things, and the love regarding things and people became stronger, and futile attitudes to me became impossible. I think I am more true to myself.

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?      Yes, several, mainly knowing we are here, but there are things in life we don�t know, and there are other places, other dimensions.

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Uncertain  The first time was with a friend, he thought it was strange and that I wasn�t normal. Only recently, I talked again about my experience with my friend psychologist.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No   

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:  Experience was definitely real   My awareness went to that place, and took a shock when it ended and I walked around my house, even feeling a heavy body. Then I went to sleep again, and the experiences were unforgettable, very touching, surely unforgettable days.

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real     I have no doubts it was real, everything that happened I remember clearly today.

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   Yes    I calmer, I try to argue less, don�t waste my time with silly things.

Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?  Yes    I believe religions are important, and developing spirituality is something fundamental.

At any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?   Yes   It happened several times, I ws able to go to the tunnel many times, but I didn�t know it was a NDE.

Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?    I really wanted the answer about what was that shadow in front of the light at the end of the tunnel, to this day I do not know the answer.

Did the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and comprehensively describe your experience?   Yes   The questions refer to some very important things, I think I've told everything. I just think it is wrong that the Portuguese questionnaire went to the Spanish in the middle.

What could a national organization with an interest in near death experience (NDE) do that would be of interest to you?    No, I think sharing experience is important, but I think the real lesson is wanting to help others, in all things.
