Karen D's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was driving. Me and
my friend Patty pulled into this casino. what's interesting is that the OBE
carried forth with the feelings I had when I went to sleep. I snuck out to the
van to sleep instead of staying in the casino and playing games. I felt
mischievous for not telling my friend I was going back to the van and snooze. I
figured Patty would know where I went if she didn't see me soon enough.
in the OBE, I went back
inside the casino and mischievously ran away from my friend for the entirety of
the OBE.
I started "dreaming" as
soon as I fell asleep. I feel asleep immediately too.
I was running away from
someone in the casino. It was really fun. I wasn't flying but I was moving
really fast, "running", going right close to people. I was moving so fast, it
was sometimes blurry. I was right in with the crowd who were gambling, drinking
and socializing, mostly oblivious to me.
All of a sudden, I woke
up and I was in the van unable to move. I just happened to wake up maybe about a
minute before P walked out to the van. I couldn't move. I laid there paralyzed
like.
She said "why were you
running away from me in the casino?". I said "I wasn't. I was out here
sleeping." It took a lot of effort to say those few words.
She was really mad.
She didn't believe that I was out in the van sleeping. She said "you kept
running away". she stayed mad.
It was too much effort
for me to explain that she witnessed me having an out of body experience. I was
just "dreaming" what she was just seeing me do. how do you say that to someone,
someone who is mad at you and you are paralyzed? I could not. I couldn't even
move. it was so much effort to speak.
that road trip,
anomalous things kept happening that p and I both experienced.
I am conscious and
alert but not to the point where I decide to take advantage of the situation and
go see someone I'm thinking about. I'm more living in the moment.
I could choose to run
this way and that. I was very alert and able to get very close to people
without touching them. very in control of what I was doing. I knew I was
running away from someone, I didn't care who.
Was the experience
dream like in any way?
no. I went to sleep
very fast and was in that OBE immediately and continuously until I woke up.
Did you experiment
while out of the body or in another, altered state?
No
this event im
recounting was a generic OBE, not the big one. I've had lots of OBEs starting
from childhood.
Did you have any
psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did
not have prior to the experience?
No prior to and
continuing to this day, paranormal is normal.
-sometimes people can
see you
-I can fly, jump far,
move extremely fast.
-OBEs feel like a
real experience, different from dreams
-I like having fun in
OBEs, do things like: look in their fridge and eat,
go to the mall and
fly around, go to cultural events, be in crowds and
fly around near
people, knowing they might be able to see me and I have to be sneaky/fast.
-your flying skills
keep getting better.
I get the same type of
OBE once in a while and for all of my life.
generally I'm in a mall
and it's closed with just the security guards or late night restaurants. I fly
around and look at everything in the shops. when possible, I fly really close
to people, careful that I can get away in case they see me.
another OBE I get is
going into strangers houses and investigate their food situation while they
sleep. sometimes I eat their food. I have to be quiet as they are sleeping.
these OBEs always have
a sense of fun, sneakiness, mischievous. I have different OBEs where I travel
very distantly.
Any associated
medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
No
Was the kind of
experience difficult to express in words?
No
At the time of this
experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
What was your level
of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
OBE's are different.
they feel like a memory, they are inscribed on your experience like a memory.
immediately upon awakening, it's like I blinked my eyes and instead of being in
the casino, I was lying in the van awake and thinking about running around in
the casino, what I was just doing.
Did you experience
a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes I guess so.
the weight of your body is gone. it's a weightless body that still has my
form, I view and experience things from my regular height and perspective. I
don't see my body. it doesn't feel unusual or scary as I have been in this
state before, a natural state. I am see through, could be seen. in a different
OBE, I was mist or people seen me as mist.
What emotions did
you feel during the experience?
gleeful, mischievous,
big smile on my face, hiding from someone, laughing.
Did you hear any
unusual sounds or noises?
no
LOCATION
DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No response my OBE
happened in the casino exactly as it looked in real life - bright lights, lots
of people around the games, same layout and interior, full color.
Did you see a
light?
No
Did you meet or see
any other beings?
Yes not this time.
I was mixed right in with the regular human people who were actually at the
casino. most of them couldn't see me.
no. it's like I was
on auto-pilot, already engaged in what I was doing.
Did you observe or
hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
Uncertain I didn't
observe or hearing anything unusual. but as I said, p seen me.
Did you notice how
your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?
Yes I could move
really fast without bumping into people, I don't recall smells, it sounded the
same as real life, I was not visible to most people. I would be see-through if
you couldn't see me. I didn't have the material weight of my body to carry
around.
Did you have any
sense of altered space or time?
Yes no. its the
same as real time. I can be uncannily cognizant in exact amount of time passage
in real life. this OBE, I wasn't counting time, too busy.
Did you have a
sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No I had another
OBE or anomalous experience in march 2002 , earlier that year, that was of a
great spiritual nature. this particular OBE was four months after.
Did you have any
changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes it really
confirmed what I had felt in previous OBEs:
How has the
experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career
choices?
no
Has your life
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
No
Have you shared
this experience with others?
Yes I've shared but
there are believers and people who don't believe in OBEs.
What emotions did
you experience following your experience?
in a carry over from
the OBE, I was thinking about how much fun it was. in a blink of an eye, I was
in the van thinking about what just happened. I still look upon it fondly and
it always makes me laugh.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
p was so mad and I was
so paralyzed that I never asked p about it. she's living elsewhere since soon
after. hopefully, we'll be able to visit and discuss what she actually seen. I
bet she caught glimpses of me moving really fast.
Following the
experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or
substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
Yes I continue to
have OBEs.
