Experience description:
I was an atheist and did not believe in religion, or God. Now I am a
spiritual seeker!
I have no idea what happened to me, and I wish someone could tell me!
While I was sleeping, I had a 'dream' - although it wasn't a dream. I
wish I had better words to describe this.
A 'being' was with me, although I didn't see it, I felt it.
It filled me with so much intense love!!! This is why I know it wasn't a
dream - I couldn't have dreamed this love - it just doesn't exist in this world.
It was unconditional, overwhelming (in a very good way), and beautiful.
So. Much. Love!!!! I felt at home with this 'being' - like I had come home.
It gave me the big picture so I would understand why I was here. I got
it, but I can't tell you what it was now - but it made a lot of sense at the
time. The being told me that
everything will be fine and everything is as it should be.
I woke up with such a sense of well being. I knew immediately that what I
experienced was not a dream, but some sort of visitation. Right away I KNEW
there was life after death, or something more than this world and I knew I was
just a little part of it. I got the sense that we are all apart of it and that
being either came from it or was the source of it.
For six months or so, I began to look up psychics on YouTube and the internet
when I had time. Nothing explained
what happened to me. Once I found
the NDErs, - I found there were so many similarities!
I began to wonder if I had died in my sleep?!?! (I had heard the term
before, but I didn't relate it to anything metaphysical).
After, I feel a need to recalibrate the way I live, to adjust my thinking -
especially when people challenge my happiness :).
Before, it didn't matter, but now, I know that I'm most likely not alone
and my thoughts are just as important as my deeds.
I have a lot to learn and am enjoying that journey.
At the time
of your experience was there an associated life-threatening event?
No
Was the experience
difficult to express in words?
Yes
The amount of love and the feeling like I
belong to something larger. I don't
know how to express the love. It wasn't anything of this earth.

The being seemed to tell me that what I

I feel bad that I'm here, writing in an NDE site.
I wish I knew what happened to me, but the NDEr's are the closest thing

life events that occurred around the time of the ex
Discuss any changes
that might have occurred in your life after your experience:
I am trying to find a religion that fits with my
experience. The closest I have found
is Hinduism. I am learning more
about that. After reading other
people's similar experience and from the idea of 'feeling' with this being, I
think I need to pay more attention to my thoughts and deeds.
Especially my thoughts.
My
experience directly resulted in:
Moderate changes in my life
Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that

Yes
See above.

No
Are there one or several parts of your experience
that are especially meaningful or significant to you?
The love.
Have you ever shared this experience with others?
Yes
I have a good support system and my
friends believe me. One is very
afraid of dying - we had spoken a lot about it before. Now I feel differently
and am trying to share things to help him not fear, but he thinks it would be
easier to believe if he had this
experience. I feel sooo fortunate to
have had this gift.
Did you have any knowledge
of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
No
What did you believe about
the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:
Experience was definitely real
It was a gift. I wish I could have

What do you believe about

and fast.
Have your relationships
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
I've covered this previously.
Have your religious
beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
I read about spirituality now.
I don't care if people are religious....many paths.
I used to feel annoyed if someone said 'Have a blessed Day' (code for a
religious person). Now I think it's quite nice.
At
any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Did
the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and
