Judy E's Experience
|
Experience description:
Taken to hospital with
acute asthmatic attack, put into ICU and attached to many monitoring devices
which showed very high heart rate and very shallow breathing. I could not lay
down so the nurse (at my request) brought tray to my bedside and with a pillow
on top of tray I leaned forward onto tray and closed my eyes and tried to
concentrate on staying alive. I was past the wheezing stage and into breathing
so shallow there was no sound. I realized that fear of death could be just the
thought that would send me over the edge so I had to distract myself. Having
dated a hypnotherapist once, I tried using hypnotherapy by starting with my toes
and working my way up my body. A friend arrived at the hospital and, of course,
could not be allowed into ICU so he sent a note.
When the nurse brought
the note, I couldn't open my eyes and that was when I realized I had achieved
some level of hypnotherapy so, somehow I asked her to read it (I couldn't talk
very well). He was very Christian and it said something about "there is no
condemnation for those who believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ". At that point, I
was no longer aware of the room, the nurse or anything related to the
hospital...my awareness shifted. I was seeing pictures of Jesus that I loved as
a child, such as Jesus knocking at the door and children gathered around Jesus.
I immediately questioned why I was seeing this since I no longer considered
myself a Christian. As fast as I had the thought, the answer was in my
head..."this was to comfort me". The pictures of Jesus disappeared and a voice
started talking to me....a voice as physical and real as any. The odd thing was
that the voice was my own and I was being told that I would be okay and that it
was the journey or process that was important. The next moment I was inside of a
light and felt the most tremendous love. I felt as if there was nothing I could
ever do to have that love taken from me. One way I have described it is, I
crawled inside of God and could now feel how God felt about me. I do not know
how long this all took, but suddenly I was aware of my surroundings once again,
but could now breath.
I remember laying down
and hugging my pillow and feeling so appreciative of the fact I could lay down
and rest and breath. The experience was so exciting to me that I wanted to tell
everyone who came near. When I told my doctor (first person near my bed), he
said his mother had a similar experience. Another friend who visited soon after
told me for the first time that she had had a similar experience many years
before but had not mentioned to many people. Another young girl who was living
with me temporarily (after hearing my story) told me her own near death
experience which she had never told a soul because she was afraid they would
think she was crazy. All of these accounts lead me to believe my experience
wasn't as unusual as one might think. It is there for all of us...the comfort
and love.
At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
Yes Serious asthmatic situation that had been coming on for a while.
Previous to event, I had not been able to lie down for about a week. I don't
remember how I got to the hospital.
Was the experience difficult to express in words?
Yes The feeling of love was unlike anything in this dimension or anything I
had known before, therefore words to express felt like not enough.
At what time during the experience were you at your highest level of
consciousness and alertness? In the light experiencing the love.
How did your highest level of consciousness and alertness during the experience
compare to your normal everyday consciousness and alertness?
More consciousness and alertness than normal I would not have
described it as more conscious and alert. The feeling was greater than any
experienced in this 3-D, duality awareness.
Did your vision during the experience differ in any way from your normal,
everyday vision (in any way, such as clarity, field of vision, colors,
brightness, depth perception degree of solidness/transparency of objects, etc.)? Yes Even
though there was a light, it was more feeling than visual.
Did you have any visual impairment during your normal everyday life immediately
prior to the time of the experience? No
Did your hearing during the experience differ in any way from your normal,
everyday hearing (in any way, such as clarity, ability to recognize source of
sound, pitch, loudness, etc.)? No
Did you have any hearing impairment during your normal everyday life immediately
prior to the time of the experience?
No
Did you experience consciousness / awareness apart from your physical / earthly
body?
Yes I was not aware of my physical body during the experience.
Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring at a time that your
consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body?
No

your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body that
you later (after your experience) verified really happened or was real?
No
Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during the time that
your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical / earthly body that
you later (after your experience) verified did not really happen or was not
real?
No
Did you see or hear any earthly events that were occurring during the time that
your consciousness / awareness was apart from your physical body that were
located far beyond any possible physical sensory awareness of your physical /
earthly body? No
What emotions did you feel during the experience?
LOVE and comfort
Did you pass into or through a tunnel? No
Did you see an unearthly light? Yes
Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth
who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha,
etc.)?
Yes Just pictures of Jesus. Not him walking and talking to me.
Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth,
but whose earthly lives had ended prior to the time of your experience (they
were deceased)? No
Did you encounter or become aware of any earthly beings who were alive at the
time of your experience (they were not deceased)?
No
Did you seem to
encounter a mystical being or presence?
my voice talked to me in the beginning of the experience.
Did you become aware of past events in your life?
No
Did you seem to
enter some other, unearthly world?
Didn't feel like "a place" existed.
Did time seem
to speed up?
Hard to tell. There was a sequence to the experience.
Did you
suddenly seem to understand everything?
During the experience, I was not aware of "a universe" or "others".
Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?
No
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that there
is continued existence after earthly life (life after death)?
Yes I just knew it.
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that there is
no continued existence after earthly life (no life after death)?
No
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
that God or a supreme being really
does exist? Yes The light and love felt like God or supreme
being.
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
that God or a supreme being really
does not exist? No
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that some or all of us currently living our earthly lives
did
have some type of existence prior to our current earthly lives?
Yes That is hard to answer since you may be referring to past
lives. It felt like it just was and could never be anything else.
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that some or all of us currently living our earthly lives
did not
have some type of existence prior to our current earthly lives?
No
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that there
exists a mystical connection, oneness, or unity that connects some or all
of us currently living our earthly lives with something else, such as other
being(s) or other thing(s)?
Uncertain The light was so "all encompassing", but the love felt directed
to me.
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
suggesting that there
does not exist a mystical connection, oneness, or unity that connects some or all
of us currently living our earthly lives with something else, such as other
being(s) or other thing(s)?
No
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
regarding earthly lifes meaning or purpose?
Yes
During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness
regarding love?
Yes Love like nothing I have ever experienced. Loving my children is the
closest, but still isn't quite there.
During your experience, did you encounter any other specific information /
awareness that you have not shared in other questions that is relevant to living
our earthly lives?
Yes I am no more special than anyone else...the "love just is". Your belief
doesn't matter, the love won't change.
Did
you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?
No
What occurred during your experience included:
Content that was entirely not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of
your experience I had come to believe in a supreme being, but what
that was and how it looked, I wasn't sure. I also believed incarnation could be
true.
How
accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events
that occurred around the time of the experience?
I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred
around the time of the experience I have shared the story
enough where that could be an influence on the remembrance.
Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:
More tolerant of the journey of others. Feel more oneness. Long for another
level of awareness.
Did
you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that
occurred as a result of the experience?
Yes More tolerant of the journey of others.
Do
you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts following the
experience that you did not have prior to the experience?
No
Are
there one or several parts of the experience that are especially meaningful or
significant to you?
The
experience of unconditional LOVE
Have you ever shared this experience with others?
Yes The minute someone came near my bed. I was so elated, I just wanted to
talk about it. I don't know if others have been influenced. I guess the young
girl who lived with me and finally told her own story for the first time and
cried with a sense of relief.
Did
you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
Yes I was in a stage of my life (actually had been for many years) where I
read many accounts of anything related to spiritual experiences. My experience
was different than many I had read or heard about. I never heard about anyone
hearing their voice and I would have expected a tunnel going toward the light
and I also thought seeing the pictures of Jesus was unexpected.
What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to
weeks) after it happened:
Experience was definitely real It felt very real, couldn't have been more
real. Looking back, it feels almost more real than some of my memories of this
awareness.
What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:
Experience was definitely real There is a "knowing" that comes with life and
ones experiences that can't be explained or given to another. This "knowing"
increases continually.
Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
I am
less of a victim in relationships and try to see my part in all that "I create".
Have your religious beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result
of your experience?
No
At
any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?
Uncertain It's hard to know if my subsequent experiences are related to
"the experience" or just living and learning.
Is
there anything else that you would like to add about your experience?
Can't think of anything. This was very thorough.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided so far accurately and
comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes As much as words can...which is very limited.
What could a national organization with an interest in near death experience
(NDE) do that would be of interest to you?
Just help others to know there is nothing to be afraid of. You are your own
worst enemy and even that won't stop the love that is there for you. I also
think some of the varying details related in all our experiences are influenced
by our beliefs to start with, but the love that is real just is and always will
be. Everyone will experience the love eventually.
Please offer any suggestions that you may have to improve this questionnaire.
Are there any other questions that we could ask to help you communicate your
experience?
That's a BIG question and would take more thought than I have time for now.
You've done a good job.
