Judith S's Experience
|
Experience description:
It wasn't until the late 1990's that I read a book describing a woman's NDE
from a surgical procedure. Up until
then, I tried to research what I experienced, but could find nothing similar.
My Experience happened in 1972 and there was nothing unusual going on in my life
other than being a mother to three young children under the age of five.
My husband was the Chief of surgery at the hospital.
I went to
sleep as usual without any alcohol or drug assistance.
I dreamed
that I was in the street and an oncoming black car
with running boards was about to hit me.
My first thought was the fear that I was going to feel pain. Upon
impact, I saw myself in a mystical place.
I was on a path. On either side of the path were shrouded figures in a
'child's pose' stretching all the way out to the horizon on either side of where
I stood. Ahead of me were
unbelievably beautiful clouds and light emanating from that place. It also
emanated heavenly, celestial music.
In an instant, I knew that I was supposed to go there, towards the light.
Somehow I realized during the dream or when I woke up that I was on the
path and the other shrouded figures in the dream didn't know where to go.
Upon awaking, I realized immediately that I was more than my physical
body and this experience impacted my life from then on.
I painted my dream in oils as this was the most unusual and important
experience of my life at that point in time.

Yes
Knew that I was to stay on the path

now.

Uncertain
Probably that we are more than our
physical bodies and our spirit or soul never dies.
Did you have a sense of
knowing special knowledge or purpose?
Yes
That if one didn't believe that they were
stuck (shrouded shapes) and never reached the light.
What occurred during your
experience included:
Content that was entirely not consistent with the
beliefs you had at the time of your experience
I was very young and not extensively read; however, I had an unusual
experience about two years prior to my dream when I gave birth to my son.
When they put him in my arms in the hospital I looked into his eyes and
was shocked and said to myself 'I know you from before'
I had never consciously heard or read about reincarnation before. Not
sure if I investigated it after as I was busy being a mother.
How accurately do you
remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around
the time of the experience?
I remember the experience more accurately than
other life events that occurred around the time of th
I can never forget this experience, most important experience of my life.
Time can never dull my remembrance.
My
experience directly resulted in:
Moderate changes in my life
Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that
occurred as a result of the experience?
Yes
Knew that a higher being existed and that the earthly existence was just
temporary and maybe that one (like energy) is recycled and that reincarnation is
a distinct possibility.
Do you
have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that
you did not have before the experience?
Yes
yes, I had an out-of-body experience,
again in a sleep state. This
occurred during the same year 1972.
Are there one or several parts of your experience
that are especially meaningful or significant to you?
NO FEAR OF DEATH
Have you ever shared this experience with others?
Yes
Immediately told my husband who was an
M.D. doctor and a scientist. I don't
know if he was influenced, but he did believe me that I had the experience.
We're still married( fifty years, so,,,
Did you have any knowledge
of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?
No
What did you believe about
the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:
Experience was definitely real
I experienced it, but couldn't explain how
or why I had the dream. Never heard
of NDE's EVER. No one wrote about it in the 1970's.
It was very real to me and I just accepted it/
What do you believe about
the reality of your experience at the current time:
Experience was definitely real
After reading what was published after
1999, Dr. Moody, etc. and having written a paper about NDE, I know they are
real. However, I've never heard of
anyone having this experience in the 1970's in a dream and would like to hear
about that. It's one thing to dream
about it now that the knowledge of the occurrence is in the mainstream of our
society, but prior, that's what I would like to know.
Have your relationships
changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
My son, who is currently terminal, stage 4 cancer
and also a medical doctor, thinks that I'm a kook because I reiterated my
experience to him.
Have your religious
beliefs/spiritual practices changed specifically as a result of your experience?
No
At
any time in your life, has anything ever reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Is there anything else
that you would like to add about your experience?
Since I had never heard nor read about a NDE in 1970, my dream
must have been a previous life experience and meant to show me the truth about
reincarnation.
Did
the questions asked and information that you provided accurately and
comprehensively describe your experience?
Yes
Are there any other questions that
we could ask to help you communicate your experience?

of my daughter next door. Somehow I
felt myself travel through the wall and felt myself to be in her room looking
down on her asleep in her bed.

was without my physical body. At
this point I panicked and immediately found myself back in my own bed
