Experience description:
For as long as I remember I’ve had incredibly vivid dreams.
They involve all my senses. There are some dreams I have approximately 4-5 times
a year where I feel like I’m an observer and I don’t know anyone in the dream.
I’ve also had a dream where I observed a woman In
the dream, became the woman and was running from a man shooting a gun at me. I
put my hand on my back to shield myself from the bullets but a bullet shot in my
hand and then I became the observer again. When I awoke I had a bruise in the
shape of the circle on my hand. I took a picture of it which I still have.
The last one of 'these stranger dreams' just occurred last Friday into Saturday
(10/25-26). I was sitting on a sofa perpendicular to another sofa speaking with
a man named Ray who had a son Bobby. He was waiting for his estranged wife to
appear at the air bnb we were both staying at. She walked in with a white lab
coat. I could describe in detail how they looked (all 3 of them) yet I don’t
know them. Today Monday while having lunch with a colleague I felt compelled to
tell her about my dream. She almost fainted! Her brother whose name was Ray and
which she was estranged from committed suicide several years before. This past
Friday she had just come across a baby book from another brother (Bobby) who
died before she was born and remarked to her husband that she felt Bobby’s death
'broke' Ray. I also described Bobby and she confirmed that he looked as I
described. He couldn’t get his life together and was going to be moving into a
relatives air bnb and didn’t want and that is when he ended his life. This is
the first time I actually had any connection that I could confirm of my
'stranger dreams'. This only happens in my dreams and not all the time but when
they happen I somehow know it’s me observing real people verses my regular
dreams from stress or the days events. How can I speak to someone about this?
How can I further develop or understand what is happening?

Uncertain I feel as though I’m leaving my

What emotions did you feel during
the experience?
Neutral as an
observer, always an observer. It’s almost like I am there to 'run interference'
for these people. I really don’t know how to articulate what happens
Did you hear any unusual sounds or
noises?

No

with others?
Yes My best friend and my husband
know of my 'stranger dreams' but until today I never knew anyone they were
connected to and/or was able to confirm the people were real.
What was the best and worst part of
your experience?
The worse one
was one I had in Switzerland where there were a lot of horrible tastes and
smells and I was very upset. It was the only one that I was not a neutral
observer as all of my other ones were and I was panicked and running with these
strangers. Not one person did I recognize.
