John P's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was stationed at
Pearl Harbor in the US Navy during this event, and was very much into meditation
and auto-hypnosis. During one of my sessions, I was in a very dark space and was
listening to "new age" music. I went through the normal relaxation techniques
one does for auto-hypnosis. About 15-20 minutes into my session, my
consciousness was no longer housed within my body, which happened instantly,
and I would not hear my music anymore.
I was then in a very
dark endless void, with a light in the upper left hand corner that is very hard
to describe. It was very bright, but you could look at it and not hurt your
eyes. there was also knowledge in the light, but I cannot really describe it.
Then a being appeared
to my right, which I could identify as make, however all I could see was the
silhouette of the being, but I could sense it was a male. The being "said" to
me, "Your father is going to die." The being more communicated it to me in a
telepathic sense. I then snapped back into consciousness instantly and was very
freaked out.
I told a close friend
about it within a few minutes, and called my mom back home the same day to relay
the story to her. I also told her to tell my father to go to the doctor. He did
not, and died of a massive heart attack a month later.
It was also very
bright, but you could look at it and not hurt your eyes. there was also
knowledge in the light, but I cannot really describe it.

LOCATION
DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No
Did you see a
light?
Yes
The best was I have
found to describe the way the light looked, would be to immerse yourself in a
pool during a very dark night and have someone shine a very bright light into
the water. The way the light refracts.
Did you meet or see
any other beings?
Yes
I met a being I knew
was male, but I could not make out any features, but I knew intuitively that it
was a male being. The being told me my father was going to die. Which he did one
month later.
Did you experiment
while out of the body or in another, altered state?
No
Did you observe or
hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?

different?
Yes
Everything worked as
normal, but I could not feel my physical body. I was free from my body.

I went from
being a recent born again Christian to being a non-religious person with strong
spiritual beliefs.
How has the
experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career
choices?
I am no longer
religious, but highly spiritual. I have been on a quest ever since to understand
what happened to me that day. I study religion, theism, and NDEs.
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Yes
Yes. I now have
no doubt that there is more after physical death. Our consciousness goes on
after death. There is nothing to fear.
Have you shared
this experience with others?
Yes
There reactions were
ones of disbelief. My mother told me it was the work of Satan. I think some may
have believed me.
What was the best
and worst part of your experience?
Not being able to fully
understand what happened to me and that I may never be able to explain or
understand what happened.
Following the
experience, have you had any other events in your life, medications or
substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
