Experience description:

I was at the end of a breathing meditation on a Yoga Teacher training course in India and when I lay down to rest in Savasana, my breath spontaneously stopped.

After a little while my chest felt like it broke open and I was in another realm.. I could see but not with eyes, I could hear but with no ears etc. There was dark and light at the same time. I was with the creator and held very lovingly. Love was the key emotion or reality.

It was a very expansive experience and I knew everything with all the knowledge coming to me without trying. I did not have any idea about who I was in the physical world at all. It was peaceful and extremely blissful.  I'm not sure how long I was there, maybe 10 minutes.

Everyone was sitting up when I came back.

I came back knowing that we never die - so we should live to the fullest with no fear.

Did you see an unearthly light?   Yes   It almost felt cosmic .. Extreme light but also Dark I felt like I was the light

Did you seem to encounter a mystical being or presence, or hear an unidentifiable voice?   I encountered a definite being, or a voice clearly of mystical or unearthly origin
I couldn't see anyone, I could feel someone - godlike/extremely nurturing

Did you encounter or become aware of any beings who previously lived on earth who are described by name in religions (for example: Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.)?   No  

Did you encounter or become aware of any deceased (or alive) beings?   No  

Did you become aware of past events in your life during your experience?   No  

Did you seem to enter some other, unearthly world?   A clearly mystical or unearthly realm
It felt like I was a star in the cosmos

Did time seem to speed up or slow down?   Everything seemed to be happening at once; or time stopped or lost all meaning
I had no concept of time but I received and saw so much that it felt like everything was happening all at once

Did you suddenly seem to understand everything?   Everything about myself or others
I came back knowing that we are all one and so much more about who we are. When someone talks to me, I know what they are going through and how to answer them. Not from my brain but from my intuition

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?   No

Did you come to a border or point of no return?   No

Did scenes from the future come to you?  No

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness suggesting that there either is (or is not) continued existence after earthly life (“life after death”)?   Yes   You just know - the first thing I said when I came back to my body was 'why are people so afraid to die, there is no death'

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that God or a supreme being either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   I was with a higher being. The message or awareness that I got was 'I am God' but, the higher being was the absolute creator. This was very exciting because I know that I am the creator and create with the higher God/universe/source

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that you either did (or did not) exist prior to this lifetime?   No  

During your experience, did you encounter any specific information / awareness that a mystical universal connection or unity/oneness either does (or does not) exist?   Yes   You know that you are one with everyone - I'm not sure how you know you just do

Did you have a sense of knowing special knowledge or purpose?   Yes   I knew we must live to the fullest because there is no death

What occurred during your experience included:   Content that was both consistent and not consistent with the beliefs you had at the time of your experience   Before having this experience, I didn't know this existed. When I came back, I had no idea what had happened. Nothing can prepare you for this .. It also takes time to integrate

How accurately do you remember the experience in comparison to other life events that occurred around the time of the experience?   I remember the experience more accurately than other life events that occurred around the time of the experience   I can recall it like it happened yesterday and as if it's happening in the now.

Discuss any changes that might have occurred in your life after your experience:   Fear of death disappears and an unexplainable wisdom is with me always

Did you have any changes in your values or beliefs after the experience that occurred as a result of the experience?   Yes   I know now that consciousness never dies

Do you have any psychic, non-ordinary or other special gifts after your experience that you did not have before the experience?   Yes   I get answers to questions - not from my mind but from intuition

Are there one or several parts of your experience that are especially meaningful or significant to you?     From the moment I left my body, everything was incredibly special

Have you ever shared this experience with others?   Yes  I shared it with my husband straight away, with my mom and sister when I returned from India and with my Yoga students only 6 years later.

Did you have any knowledge of near death experience (NDE) prior to your experience?   No  

What did you believe about the reality of your experience shortly (days to weeks) after it happened:   Experience was definitely real   There's no doubt. It's not a belief , it's a knowing

What do you believe about the reality of your experience at the current time:   Experience was definitely real   The same thing; it's an absolute knowing

Have your relationships changed specifically as a result of your experience?   I'm more authentic and speak my truth with no fear   Yes
