Experience description:

For some time I had been going down the path of self improvement/enlightenment and had made some progress I had felt. I have practiced meditation and some self hypnosis along with this. I have had a least 2 visions whilst I was totally conscious and some that could be called enlightened dreams. The first vision was in broad daylight while at work. As I was lowering a ramp on to the back of my truck the ramp disappeared and I could see a road lined with beautiful trees. It lasted about 4 seconds and the message that came with it was that what I most desired was my freedom. Another time I could see my life. It was a thin line which had a large undercurrent. In the undercurrent were events both good & bad , past and future and I was being shown how they were affecting me now.  These events used to infrequently happen about every 3 months or so. Frequently they were interrupted by others in the house.

In February 2005 my wife left me to go and live in another town with her mother. We tried counselling to no effect. About 3 weeks later I was at home , it was late at night, and I had had a few beers. I was leaning on the ranch slider door thinking about how even in the middle of separation , having to sell home etc how I could still feel good and feel loved. The more I concentrated on this feeling the better and better I felt. The more emotional I became too. I started to sense I was connecting to something. All of a sudden i felt a bubbling inside starting from my abdomen, like a bubble pushing its way up a narrow gap. It sounded like that too. As it came up and passed through my head there was a loud CRACK and my conciousness/ soul left my body. I could see or was shown what looked like a large glowing silk bag. I could see that my soul was a glowing ball. Imagine a mirror formed into a ball that glowed. The silk bag was open there were some other balls/ souls there. They seemed to know me and strangly me them. I felt a total love. I recall what I was witnessing was either the body of Christ/humanity.

All that I needed was there for me. I was part of it. I could see my physical body leaning in the door. I felt as though I was hovering about 3 feet away and 1 foot above it. When I looked down I became worried that my body would fall. Instantly I was "sucked" back in. Both going out and coming back in were quite physical but not painful. The experiance lasted about 3 - 5 seconds as far as I can tell. The amount of knowledge and the way it was conveyed was amazing.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     A glowing round sphere

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            Total love, joy, peace

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           As my consciouness left my body there was bubbling sound. My consciousness / soul seemed to come from around my chest area. It seemed to be a bubble going through a narrow gap and there was a noise associated with it. As it moved up and went through my head and out of my body, there was a loud "CRACK" I felt it was like two pinchers being forced apart as it went through. This took about 1 - 2 seconds.

Did you see a light?           Yes     I saw a light prior to the OBE and when I was in that state saw other lights there.

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Uncertain      That where I was and what I was seeing was the body of Christ or humanity

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          No      

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes     it seemed although I was out of my body and witnessing a vision or perhaps reality I could also look back and see my body

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes            Definitly a sense of unversal order & special knowledge

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       Yes     Yes. In was standing upright at the time this event occurred. Whilst have the OBE I looked back and felt my body may fall. I was instantly "sucked" back into my body

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       Made me feel privilaged to have experianced it. Worry a lot less about things in knowing all is as it should be in most ways

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      No bad parts although going out and coming back in took me by surprise
