Harold E's Experience
|
Experience description:
In1944 at fort belvoir during night training, our group came to a gully. I recognized a potential for injury so chose an adjacent spot of lesser slope. then had the OBE, slipped, my foot caught on a root, my body kept going and my ankle broke.
At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? Uncertain I now believe that had the event not happened resulting in a broken ankle and subsequent hospitalization, i would have died in action
What was your level of consciousness and
alertness during the experience? I was alert and careful
Was the experience dream like in any way? only in the sense that i knew it was going to happen and tried unsuccessfully to prevent it
Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body? Yes I was above my body looking down upon myself groveling in the mud
What emotions did you feel during the experience? wonderment
Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? Uncertain immediately after the obe, I was experiencing the pain normal to a fracture
Did you have any sense of altered space or time? Yes My logical mind recognized that I could not be in the place from which I was viewing my body
How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices? No particular changes commenced then
Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Uncertain
Have you shared this experience with others? Yes
Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience? Partly because of the OBE and
subsequent events in my life absolutely completely believe in the axiom that whatever goes around comes around
