George's Experience
|
Experience description:
We
were playing at "cops and robbers", some sort of shooting game between four of
us (my younger brother - by 1.5 years, and two friends) in our friends' barn.
The
hay was stacked up in the barn, up to a fair level ( I would estimate 25-30 feet
high, but things were likely different scale as I was smaller, it seemed higher)
and we were running around shooting at each other.
It
was just us kids having fun in a barn that we had full access to. Running
around, hiding behind hay bales and building walls and stuff, pretending to
shoot each other.
At
the time just before my experience, I was hiding behind a sort of hay bale wall,
when I had what I can only explain as a "flashback". I saw that I ran out from
behind the hay bales with my brother, ran past a hay chute (that they use to
drop the hay down to the cattle floor in the basement) and one of the bales at
the side of the chute gave way, and I fell backwards into the chute.
I
can still see my brother's face and the scream/yell he gave out as I fell. I
remember falling as if in slow motion, and a white flash.
The
next thing I remember is that I am back where I was before this "flashback",
behind the hay bales.
I
thought it weird that this happened, but I had previous minor experiences with
what I now know as premonitions as a child. But this was the first I that had
when not sleeping, and so close to the actual event.
Thinking back, and trying to remember how I felt at the time is difficult, but I
guess that I must have interpreted it as a warning. So our playing continued,
and sure enough, my brother and I run out, I step on the same hay bale, it gives
way, and I fall backwards into the chute.
This
time, I still see my brothers face and hear the same scream/yell, but as I am
falling, it is not in slow motion, and I have my arms and legs out like what I
would imagine a cat falling on its back must be like, and catch myself at the
floor of the barn, about 10 feet above the concrete floor.
Now
here is the silly part, and I am typing it this way because I do see the humor
in it now, and it is pretty much the way it happened from what I can recall...
Here
I am, hanging partway through the floor of the barn by my hands and feet above
the concrete, and our friends' dad, tending the cattle, asks what I think I'm
doing.
He
helped me down, told us to be careful, and went back to work.
And
we went back to playing.... end of story.
The
reason I am submitting this is that I experienced another close call today due
to a driver who was not paying attention to road conditions, and almost ended
me.
