Erin L's Experience

Experience description:
My OBE--
I was watching something on the subject, and then I read upon it one night. I
was a bit tired so I decided to lie down and try to clear my mind...I really
doubted I would be able to have an OBE, I was a bit skeptical of the whole
thing, and I've read that many people have to try over and over to have them..?
Anyways, I fell asleep...I was having a dream that I was in my ex-boyfriends
house. I remember talking to him, and his mom and I felt really weird. I've
never actually had a feeling like that in a dream, then I realized I was
dreaming and I remember telling them, "Hey, I'm dreaming." It had turned into a
lucid dream. But a few moments later I woke up. I looked around my room...I was
very conscious but my body felt very heavy...I lifted my arms and I felt like I
was floating out of my body. I was a little frightened but I tried sitting up
and it's like something came out of my physical body...my feet were floating.
Then it's as if I rose up and I was going towards my ceiling. I saw my ceiling
fan but just went right through it. I saw my picture board on my bedroom wall
and went right through it and into the other room. There I saw my mom sitting at
her computer typing. All of a sudden I guess I moved because I was back to my
body. But I was still rising up, I could hear my cell phone ringing-- eventually
my mom came into my room and said something to me. I wasn't sure if she saw
something weird, I guess not. But I finally woke up and realized what had
happened, I stood up and my legs almost ached a bit. I think I want to try that
again, and try to actually go somewhere. But it was pretty fun, it was a feeling
of clarity I guess you could say.
Background-- I'm only
16 years of age, and all of my life I have always been able to remember my
dreams in depth. My dreams always seem so real to me, and about two years ago I
started having lucid dreams. At first when I would realize I was dreaming I
could do anything I wanted, but only for a short period of time because then I
would usually wake up. I used to have a lot of really awful nightmares so I
would usually have to make myself realize that I was dreaming so that I could
wake up. But now I have lucid dreams very often, probably every other night. I'm
not sure if that's a common thing but it just happens with me. I can do anything
I want- fly, meet celebrities, go different places, and so on. I can also go to
sleep and basically concentrate on a subject/person I would like to dream about
and I just kind of fall into that dream. It's very surreal. I also have sleep
paralysis once in a while, I'm not sure if that means anything, but I know that
makes me a bit paranoid, considering I'm conscious but unable to physically
move.
