Elizabeth W's Experience
|
Experience description:
As a child
my family and I would always travel from Illinois to northern Wisconsin. For the
summer vacations, all holidays. My mother,
brother, and I would share a bedroom, but separate beds. The room was
always completely black when we would go to bed and turn the lights off, due to
us being in the middle of the woods. The dark never bothered me, so no
need for a night light for any of us. My brother
who is 3 years younger then I was in the room when this all occurred. It
was a normal evening, we lived in a loving household. It was time for my
brother and I to go to bed, no complaints as we headed to our room. My
brother was at the opposite side of the room from me. The lights were turned off
and laid down covers pulled up. I was totally awake. My brother was able
to fall asleep right away, as he told me of this later. I was
laying in bed staring at the wall, I couldn't see it of course since the room
was of total darkness. Out of no where there was this bright shimmering
light coming out of the wall. Sparkly shining coming towards me. I never saw any
tunnels, no people, no aliens. No colors that I can recall. Just a bright bright
light that didn't hurt my eyes. It started small and as it came towards me it
grew in size. I was
terrified, so I dove under the covers for safety. I can remember screaming and
crying for my Mom who was upstairs in the living room. After what felt
like eternity my Mom came into the room and flicked on the light. My brother
woke then, as he is a sound sleeper. Neither my Mom nor my brother would
believe me. They both insisted I was dreaming. I know I wasn't. I was awake and
never fell asleep. I don't know what to think what it was. After that I do
believe in ghosts or spirits. I had a
girlfriend come up to Wisconsin a year earlier. She slept in the same room with
me there. I never knew of the following story until last weekend. I haven't seen
her in years and we met up for lunch reminiscing of our past. This came up. She came
up to visit me in northern WI. my grandparents brought her. I am not sure
if it was her 1st or 2nd night there. This was her only stay in WI. at my
grandparents house in. Anyways it was time for bed, she slept in my
brothers bed and me in mine. The room was totally dark as usual and all of
a sudden she asked me to turn the light on. I told her no, just being a snot I
guess. She
started yelling and my Grandma came in the room and turned the light on. At that
time she didn't tell any of us of that situation. She is the same age as
me. Not sick or anything bad going on in her life. Well when
we met for lunch last weekend she brought the story up to me and told me she was
in bed and had her eyes closed and all of a sudden felt something over her. She
opened her eyes and saw a bright light that didn't hurt her eyes, except hers
were of different colors. And there were people standing on the other side of
the light. She said before then she didn't believe in ghosts after that
experience she does even up to now. I told her of mine and its just so weird we
both experienced about the same thing in the same room. For me I
have gone to that house and had the same bedroom since I was 5 until I was 15.
My family and I don't really go up there anymore just out of no time to go
there. It was my only experience of a light and same with my friend. We
are both very stumped and wished we had answers on what we saw and why. We have no
results afterwards, no special powers, no extraordinary health issues.
Just two kids healthy and going to bed. I can say that bedroom doesn't
scare me never did. The worst
it scared me so, I hid under the covers and screamed for my Mom. I never saw it
after hiding even up to now. Sometimes I wish I can see it again and face it and
try and figure out what it is.
