Experience description:

I was 25-years-old when I experienced this. I've read a lot about people having out of body experience when they die or close to death and they look down from their spirit and see their body. But the opposite is what happened to me. I was spending the night with a family that just moved into a house they just bought. Their young son about a year old would wake up in the middle of the night screaming and crying in fear. They told me about this so it wouldn't scare me if it happened again. Well, it happens again. I heard the little guy start crying, and he did sound very scared, for his mom. The parents ran in to comfort the little guy, at that same instant I was attacked by what was taunting the baby.  I could see a translucent dark figure hovering over me. I became paralyzed couldn't speak or move a muscle. As I lay there I could see my spirit sit up out of my body and point toward the apparition and command it to go and come back no more and then lay back down in my body. I was filled with such a peaceful and content feeling  I couldn't, or maybe didn't want the feeling to go away so I just lay there in this, what I'd call, pure love tell morning.  Since this, this thing never came back, but I don't think my the friends I was staying with understood what happened to me, but they knew that something had changed.

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words?          No     

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event? No     

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?    I was totally aware of everything going on around me.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?  not dream-like at all, it's hard to explain but I was wide awake.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?   Uncertain     If consciousness means spirit, yes, it not completely separated. It set up out of my body, I could see my spirit from the waist up if I could have moved my arms I could of touch with my hand.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?          That's the funny part. I should have been scared, but there was no fear at all. I felt strong, content, free.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?         nothing except for the baby, and his parents calming him down.

Did you meet or see any other beings?         Yes    a translucent dark figure

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different? No     

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?     No     

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?         Yes    That I have nothing to ever be scared of or have to fear

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?           No     

Did you become aware of future events?      No     

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?          No     

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         Yes          vivid dreams of people I'd meet in the future, that I've never met before.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?     Yes    I am a Spirit living in a human body, not a body with a spirit

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?   I see people as equals now. I notice all the beauty in life. it's brought out Love, and an understanding of life in all things

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience? Yes    it left me with a feeling of knowing that im never alone

Have you shared this experience with others?       Yes          When it first happened, I think most thought I was making this up, or that it was all a dream. today people seem to believe me.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?          the best was just knowing my spirit is there for me. the worst was explaining what happened to others.
