Donn D's Experience
|
Experience description:
I had
heard about astral projection since I was about 13 or 14 and always wanted to
try it but it wasn't until I was about 25 that I did more research on the
subject and began to experiment with meditation techniques. I read 'Adventures
Beyond the Body' by William Buhlman and 'Leaving the Body' by Micheal Rogo after
hearing several radio programs on OOBEs on 'Coast to Coast with Art Bell'. Even
though I had experience in meditation, it still took about a month before I
really was able to intentionally leave my body and sustain a "trip". For many
nights, I tried to achieve a state of absolute calmness and stillness in my mind
and body while concentrating on lifting my spirit body out of my physical body.
Each time I did this, I would get a little closer to separating myself from
myself. I think I was trying too hard. My dreams
became more lucid during this time and I learn to control the dream experience.
I recorded the dreams when I awoke and night after night I got better at
becoming 'aware' in the dream. Then one night it happened, after meditating for
what I guess was about and hour, I separated from my body, rose up and floated
out of my bedroom. I could see the night sky above me and the apartments
below. I flew toward the city for a while, just looking around. I was in a
state of awe! At one point I found myself dodging a large commercial jet taking
off from SeaTac airport! I knew
from my readings that directing thoughts can control the experience so I tried
'transporting' myself to my parents home in Texas. I flew up above the
atmosphere and traveled across the country to where they lived, found their
house, and wandered around in amazement at what I was doing. I was moving
throughout the house looking at different rooms. no one was there, although I
did not go into there bedroom. I don't remember going back to my physical body,
but suddenly I snapped back, disappointedly, and came out of the experience.
After this experience, I became very involved in work and never repeated it, but
I would like do it again. I would like to go 'deeper', explore more and get
better at controlling my spirit body...
