Dolores H's Experience
|
Experience description:
My experience was a
spiritual one that occurred in a vivid dream - a revelation.
Let me state that up to
this point in my life I wasn't particularly religious, nor did I even think or
pray to anyone other than God Himself. Jesus wasn't part of my life, either
consciously or unconsciously.
In my revelation Christ
promised me that he would return for me, and I know he someday will.
My revelation came in a
dream a very real dream. In my dream I heard someone knock at the front
door. As I made my way to the door, I saw the entire house filled with people,
and I couldnt understand why no-one was answering the knock.
When I opened the door,
I saw with pure ecstasy that Jesus was standing there, and as far back as I
could see, beautiful angels were behind him. I was awestruck with joy, and
shouted out to everyone to look but no-one heard, no-one looked. I turned
back to Jesus with utter sorrow, but as devastated and crushed as I was, Jesus
was more so. He sadly let me know that the others were not ready to hear or see
him. He told me that he just wanted to let me know that he would be there for
me when I needed him, and that he had to go.
I pleaded to him to
take me with him, but he smiled sadly and said he couldnt, because I still had
much to do. He promised me then that he would go make a place for me and return
for me when the time was right. I was both sad and elated, and as I shut the
door, I woke up.
In the days that
followed, my dream was confirmed as a divine revelation by three messages:
The first message was
when I opened a book given to me by my dear brother Ray. The first page I
flipped to was- 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice
and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with
Me. I remember thinking to myself, how weird is this it actually describes
my dream!
The second message came
to me when I glanced at another book given to me by a friend. Again, I simply
flipped to a page and the first passage my eyes fell on was 'Behold, I stand at
the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in
to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
The third and final
confirmation occurred when I stood talking to Mom as she swept out from under
her refrigerator. A tiny little book came flying out, and several pages were
missing. I was incredulous as I looked down and saw the passage: 'Behold, I
stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will
come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
I was astounded; I
couldnt believe I was having the exact message from my dream confirmed -
Revelation 3:20
The promise Jesus had
given me was also confirmed when I read John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am
you may be also.
OK - that was the great
part, and I have to confess that I was a little confused as to why I had been
given such a wonderful gift in the form of a dream.
The answer came a few
months later...
My only child at the
time, my son, was somewhere between 18-24 months old and I had become separated
from my husband. My son's bedroom was across the hall from mine, and his crib
was right under the window. In the weeks immediately before the experience I am
about to describe he had talked about a 'boogey-man' in the house, and his
fright was very real.
Then one night, I awoke
to his screams. I jumped up and ran the short distance to his room, and as I
reached into the room to turn on the light, I felt the most horrible evil
presence I have trouble even describing. My little boy was sitting in the
middle of his crib - and the crib was jumping up and down and shaking from side
to side. It took every once of courage i could muster to step into the room
that was dense with this evil presence. I slowly walked to the crib, snatched
up my son, and ran back to my bedroom, locking the door behind me. I didn't
have a phone in the room. I sat up the rest of the night, rocking my baby and
praying. The next morning I called a priest to come bless the house. He
arrived with a pure white german shepard dog, and went into my baby's room and
shut the door behind him. He was in the room about 20 minutes, and continued to
bless the rest of the house. He told me to call him if I ever had anything else
happen. It never happened again, but my son talked about the boogey man with
the red eyes at the window for months afterward.
I truly believe that
Jesus came to me to strengthen me and let me know that he was there for me. I
don't know how I would have gotten through my horrible experience if he hadn't.
