Experience description:

I was in high school art class at a table with other students.  Our table was one of four or more, and placed the closest to the door/exit.  Because it was a few weeks from the Christmas break, the instructor played holiday music for us to listen to as we worked on wood carvings for block prints.  The music played along with the hum of soft voices chatting and bodies moving about the room getting tools or ink.  I became absorbed in the carving I was creating, gouging out sections of the wooden block to leave the bass relief of my design.  Suddenly I felt myself at the top of the room, in the corner above the door.  I could see myself below, carving away on the block as I listened and spoke with three entities.  I did not see these entities, for I was busy looking down at myself and the others in the room.  However, I did have the awareness that I spoke with 1 male and 2 female entities.  The clean up buzzer rang out and I felt a snap and was suddenly back inside my body.  Everyone around me was scurrying to put up their work, but I sat there for several moments in a daze...trying to remember what had been said by the entities.  However, I could not remember a single word.  I only knew that I had discussed something about my life and the future. ----- I should probably add that I was under a lot of pressure at home, sexually molested by my father and hiding it from my mother; whom I believed I was protecting.  At the time of the experience, I was not aware of stress, though I now realize that I lived with quite a few stressors.  My father was considered a pillar of the community, with an excellent military career history.

Any associated medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?     No      

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? No      

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No      

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           I was very alert; aware of the work I was doing, and the movements of others in the room.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   No

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     Yes     I did not see myself, or those whom I spoke with.  I watched my body working at the wood carving, but my mind and all that I associate with my being was above the room with the three entities I spoke with.

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            I felt peace, excitement, and did not really want to return to the physical.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           I heard the three voices of the entities I spoke with.  One was a male voice, and seemed to make me feel that he was the superior of the three.  The two female voices sounded soft, patient, lovingly concerned.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    No           

Did you see a light?           No      

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     I seemed to be with them at the top corner of the room.  All of us, the three of them and myself, watched me/my physical self working on the wood carving as we spoke.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?          Uncertain     

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          Yes     I could see everything going on in the room, and myself at the table below, working on the carving.  I could hear the music and the hum of soft chatter, but I heard the voices of the three entities I spoke with.

Did you have any sense of altered space or time?   Yes     Although it felt as if I only spent a moment or two with the entities I spoke with, it was really the better part of the class hour.

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes     I know that important information was given to me, but I could not remember it once I returned to my body.  I felt that the information had gone deep and was there, but it was not the type of information or memory that is consciously known, or remembered like that of a phone call, or from reading a book.

Did you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?             No      

Did you become aware of future events?       Yes     Yes, but I could not retrieve this information.  I knew the knowledge was in my mind, and would help me in the future; but I could not recall it.  It was knowledge that I knew would be there in a spiritual sense, to guide or help me even though I would not know in the future that it had helped me.  I could not specify such and such, but knew the data was in me.

Were you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?       No       A class buzzer rang and I felt a snap, and was suddenly back inside my body.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?         No       As I matured, became a mother etc. my dreams became the path to knowledge.  I dream of future events, and current events that I can't do anything about, such a murders.  I see through the eyes of the criminal, and feel so powerless because I can't stop the crime.  The events of the prediction dreams usually occur within 72 hours.  If not, then I know it is an event that will occur in the distant future, and will mark a time when something extreme is about to happen.

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     I began researching all types of paranormal experiences.

How has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices? Career choices?       It has not affected me in specific ways.  It simply showed me that there is more to life than we realize.  It opened my mind to a thirst for knowledge.

Has your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?         Uncertain      My dreams were helpful at times in ways that allowed me to guide my family through dangers or towards safety.  However, the dreams where I am inside the criminal and it is about a serial murderer, I have no way to find this person and stop them.  So the dreams bothered me greatly.  All I could do was pray for the victims and their families.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     Most think I was full of silly stuff.  Others envy my experience.  None have offered any real explanations to why it occurred and how and where.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  confusion

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The best part was being out of the physical body.  I wanted to stay with the three entities I spoke with.

Is there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?        I have read about Near Death events and out of body experiences during tele-transportation efforts, dream time etc.  I have not run across a spontaneous experience such as mine, that did not start with some trauma.
