Experience description:

I was 7 or 8 months pregnant with twins. My husband and I knew they were both girls and had settled on names for them. I was sleeping and dreamed that one of the twins was speaking to me. She just told me that the other twin (she referred to her by name) "isn't ready yet." That was the whole experience, but it was very real. It wasn't possible to tell the age of the child in the dream, but I felt like I recognized her. When my daughter was born, it seemed that I already knew her. She looked exactly like the child in the dream, and as she grows, she still looks exactly like that child. She is 12 now).

Was the kind of experience difficult to express in words? Yes     It is hard to communicate how real it seemed -- different from a regular dream.

At the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening event?          No      

What was your level of consciousness and alertness during the experience?           Asleep.

            Was the experience dream like in any way?   Yes. It was a dream.

Did you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?     No      

What emotions did you feel during the experience?            The child in the dream was peaceful -- I felt a sense of calm, as if everything was under control.

Did you hear any unusual sounds or noises?           No.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION:  Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or amazing creatures?    No

Did you meet or see any other beings?           Yes     My soon-to-be daughter.

Did you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state? No      

Did you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be verified later?        Yes. In the dream, my daughter looked exactly like she did when she was born, and exactly like she does now.

Did you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they different?          No       Did you have any sense of altered space or time?          No      

Did you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?    Yes            Just knowing that everything was going to be alright, but that my other twin wasn't ready to be born yet.

Did you become aware of future events?       Yes     How my daughter would look, and that both would be ok.

Did you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did not have prior to the experience?      No      

Did you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?   Yes     I was sure that my girls existed before birth somewhere else, and that they were preparing for their lives here.

Have you shared this experience with others?         Yes     My husband, who is an atheist, thinks it is silly. My daughters love to hear the story.

What emotions did you experience following your experience?  Calm, happy.

What was the best and worst part of your experience?      The whole experience was great. There was no bad part.
