David F's Experience
|
Experience description:
I teach
people how to shoot rifles in the military. The morning of the day of my obe, i
had a particular shooter who could not qualify with his rifle. I was extremely
upset with myself, because I take much pride in my abilities to effectively
teach recruits how to shoot. That night at home, I could not sleep. My work
day was from 5am and ended at about 1pm. I was extremely tired to begin with,
but that night at home could not sleep. I went home to my wonderful girlfriend,
and spent time with her as usual. Around 10pm that night, we went to bed as
usual. She fell asleep, but i was wide awake. Awake-trying to think of what it
was that i could have done wrong. While
laying there i was thinking of ways that i could better teach recruits to
shoot. One of the biggest battles people have when it comes to shooting is
learning how to completely relax their bodies so that less energy/movement
transfers to the weapon, allowing it to better duplicate a vice in which the
weapon can be fired consistently at the same spot. When i started to actually
think about this, it was already about 2am. For about 40 minutes, i would take
each part of my body, analyze it, and continually relax that portion. Then when
i would move to a different part of my body to relax that, i would do the same
thing (i was laying on my stomach) After about 30 minutes of scanning my body
and continuous relaxation-i started drifting into that state in which you can
tell you're falling asleep, but dreaming. This is
where my dream began in which i was still half awake with my days experience and
regret still in mind. I was at a construction site. A multiple story sky
scraper was under construction. There was a utility elevator on the side of the
building. I walked to it and on its own it began to ascend up. I was observing
the building as i was going up, I could see the steel beams, but floors were
being put in. It was night time in my dream, and no one was there. I reached
the top of the building all of a sudden the elevator descended as if it broke.
I looked up and the cable had snapped. At this point I had absolutely no fear
whatsoever. In my mind i was simply having a really neat dream.
The dream
became even more fun because now, i was floating/falling above the floor of the
non covered elevator. At this point i started FEELING air as if i was actually
falling. Not feeling it in my dream, but i felt it blowing on my arms and face
and entire body as if i were actually free falling. At this point i was
completely bewildered and a little frightened. I continued this for about 5
seconds, finally i said ok, i'm opening my eyes now, because it feels like there
is REALLY air blowing me. When i did open my eyes-everything was blurry, and i
realized that i was sliding off the bed-not to the side, but straight back as if
someone was tugging my feet and pulling me off the end of the bed. When i
gained vision of this, instantaneously, i had depth and movement perception-i
was quickly sliding off the end of the bed. I could
also feel the presence of someone that was there with me. Not my girlfriend,
but someone-a large presence, very commanding. At this point just as i finally
fell of the bed I thought to myself that i wish whatever was happening to me was
not happening-i was quickly sucked back to my laying position extremely
quickly. While this happened, i heard a huge vibrating noise and it became very
blurry. My eyes were open, and i tried to move, but could not. I couldn't even
speak. I was terrified at this point-I thought that i had died, Because i
called out for my girlfriend who was sleeping next to me, but my tongue and
mouth wouldn't move. I tried to get up and move, but could not. This lasted
for about a minute. After
about a minute, i took hold of my emotions, and told myself to try moving just
my finger to tap my girlfriend. Then I was able to tap her and wake her. She
woke up and threw her arm on top of me, then i was able to fully function
again. At which time, of course, i recomposed myself and did not show fear
through my actions or words to her. I know
that during that episode, i was out of my body. Did you
