Coney A's Experience
|
Experience description:
Lying in bed at
night. Felt strange feeling of wanting to float which scared the hell out of
me. Then I said, as a researcher, lets see what happens if I let it go. I
floated to the ceiling, saw my wife sleeping and my body. I left the house,
floated above all the cities till I got to a woman friend's house. No feeling of
cold, noise and definitely not a dream.
Stood at the door and thought of
opening it when it dawned on me that I could walk right through the door which I
did. In the living room was the mother and father and the woman all watching
TV. No sound just sight. She was drinking a beer and laughing with family. I
turned and left, floating the 50 some miles back home in a matter of seconds.
At times I was afraid I would not get back to my body, strange feelings. Then I
sat on my body and felt myself going into my body and the floating went away.
The next day after getting to the work place where the woman and I worked, I
asked her; How was the beer you had last night? She about fell on the floor
and looked like I had shot her. She asked how did you know? I proceeded to
tell her where the family was sitting and watching a funny show and her laughing
but did not tell her how I knew as I wanted her comment. She said yes and that
was the first time in a year and a half that she had drunk a beer. I then told
her of my experience. Two more times this happened and when I had that feeling
I willed it to come on faster and it did.
Any

experience?
No
Was
the kind of experience difficult to express in words?
No
At
the time of this experience, was there an associated life threatening
event?

Fully
awake, knowing it was not a dream and really afraid and yet feeling in control
Was the
experience dream like in any way?
No way in any
of the three times
Did
you experience a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes
I was
me, the soul, the spirit or whatever we call it. No feeling of love, hate,
emotionless, no physical feeling at all like hot, cold, wind, smell or any
physical feeling whatsoever.
What
emotions did you feel during the experience?
As stated in #6

Did
you hear any unusual sounds or noises?
No, none at all
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:

religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No
Did
you see a light?
No
Did
you meet or see any other beings?
No
Did
you experiment while out of the body or in another, altered state?
Yes
As
stated in the story is the answer. No I could go through objects no need to
move them
Did
you observe or hear anything regarding people or events during your experience
that could be verified later?
Yes
The
woman verified what I told her. The second time I asked her to explain what she
was doing at a certain time and she proceeded to tell me that she was getting a
shower and had the feeling of a presence for a brief time. I then told her I
came to visit her again at her apartment to which she had moved since the first
experience. I then handed her a written account of what I saw when the out of
body experience happened. She had to sit down while reading it as she was
really flabbergasted at what I saw. I did get in the shower with her so that
explains her presence feeling.
Did
you notice how your 5 senses were working, and if so, how were they
different?
Yes
Sight
normal, hearing no sound, taste none, touch none. Emotions none on first OBE,
after that some sound and some emotion.
Did
you have any sense of altered space or time?
Yes
In
the fact I could move from place to place in a matter of seconds. The last time
I actually left earth but got scared and came back for fear of not getting back.
Did
you have a sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or
purpose?
Uncertain
Don't
know what you mean by knowing
Did
you reach a boundary or limiting physical structure?
No
Afraid of not getting back
Did
you become aware of future events?
No
Were
you involved in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?
Yes
There
was a fear of not getting back the longer I stayed outside my body, but the
freedom was enticing to say the least.
Did
you have any psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience
that you did not have prior to the experience?
Yes
Only
to the effect that I had premonitions that 95 percent came to pass and of
certain events that happened to this woman friend without an OBE, that after
comparing notes were all true. You see we are both researchers with this
research company and wanted to see if I was crazy or not. So when something did
happen we each wrote notes and later compared so as to eliminate a inducement of
facts that were not there.
Did
you have any changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Yes
I
believe the soul is maybe energy that uses the body and passes on to either come
back or leave the earth. I felt that I could go to any planet I wanted when
above the earth on the last OBE. This could explain a lot of so called ghosts
that people see or paranormal events that cannot be explained. Who knows
because the Lord Almighty said he was within each of us and we will return to
him. So could be that part is returned to the universe as energy. I do remember
reading a research study of people dying and body weight at the time of death
measured and the body loses about 400 grams that can't be explained by any
scientist to this day. But he fact remains that the 400 grams is constant no
matter the body weight, whether it's a 60 pound frail woman or a 500 pound man.
When my mother died I knew the moment she did die as I got up and kissed her
good bye and the heart monitor showed the blip that was like no other I have
seen and as a researcher in labs I have seen a lot of heart graphs.
How
has the experience affected your relationships? Daily life? Religious practices?
Career choices?
Not at all has
it affected anything except to wonder what it would be like to experience it
again. Have not had an OBE since 1983. Nor can I create it like I could.
Has
your life changed specifically as a result of your experience?
Uncertain
I
wish I could do it again so I could push the envelope a little more
Have
you shared this experience with others?
Yes
Only
the woman friend. But I did mention to my wife that I had an OBE but gave no
details. I did go to A Princeton NJ research place describing my events at the
urging of the woman friend. They got real interested in me after I passed some
tests they had me do and I was mentally evaluated by them also. But I could not
afford the time they wanted to do more studies of me.
What
emotions did you experience following your experience?
Elation that
there is a power within us that we don't comprehend.
What
was the best and worst part of your experience?
There was no
worst part at all. It was all positive
Is
there anything else you would like to add concerning the experience?
Nope
that's about it.
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No
Even
having my leg amputated in 1989 due to a motorcycle accident there was no
experience, none, at all like the OBE.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes
Please offer any suggestions you may have to improve this questionnaire.
none
that I can think of.
