Claudette S's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was
either fourteen or fifteen years old at the time and spending the summer with my
mother. My parents divorced when I was twelve. I had taken a walk to explore the
town that my mother lived in. When I arrived back at her place, the house was
empty. I assume she was either at work or just out at the moment. I remember
sitting down in a chair and listening to music playing in the background. I felt
a bit tired from the walk but other than that I felt good. It was beginning to
get dark outside, but I did not get up to turn on a light. I just continued to
sit in the chair.
My body
felt very relaxed and I began to feel as if I was floating. I found myself in
space. I remember thinking that this was impossible. I felt very alone and what
I remember most was how vast space felt. It felt empty as if no other life was
around. Mostly it just felt incomprehensibly huge. I found myself looking
through a window of a spacecraft, perhaps a shuttle. I don't know what they call
it. Inside were several astronauts. I focused on one man in particular. He was
smiling and then he stopped. I sensed he was ill. The next second I found myself
back in my body. I was sitting in the chair and my mother was standing
over me asking if I was high - on drugs, etc. Needless to say, I was not. I did
not use drugs of any kind. It was the seventies and I guess my mother assumed
all teens were druggies or something. I told her no, I was just sitting
listening to music. Later that night it was on TV about an astronaut sick in
space. Anyway, the question I asked myself then and now is: Did he see me too?
