Charlotte's Experience
|
Experience description:
I was about 5 years
old, and at the dentists. I was lying on a bed, like a dentist's chair, and as I
was so young, instead of a needle in the mouth they gave me gas as an
anesthetic. Initially, upon receiving the gas, I remember pink. I'm not sure if
everything went pink colored, or I just felt pink, I can't quite remember. So,
I'm lying in this chair, and I get bored, so while the dentist is working in my
mouth, I sit up and climb down off of the bed/chair, and walk around to the top
of the stairs. The staircase is narrow and steep, and there is a door at the
bottom, I think it has glass in it. This is the main memory. Then, I THINK, but
I'm not sure, that I walked down the stairs and outside. That's all I remember.
I would love to undergo hypnosis to see if I remember anything else.
I'm not sure if this
event changed my beliefs, or world view, as it was so long ago that it happened,
and I can't remember what my beliefs were prior to the event.
I have more experiences
of OBEs, lucid dreams, premonitions, etc from when I was older than this also.

Any associated
medications or substances with the potential to affect the experience?
Yes
Under 'gas' anesthetic at a dentists surgery.
Was the kind of
experience difficult to express in words?
No It happened
when I was very young, but I have a fairly good, although basic, memory of the
event.
At the time of this
experience, was there an associated life threatening event?
No
What was your level
of consciousness and alertness during the experience?
The experience seemed
to have a distant quality to it.
Was
the experience dream like in any way?
Possibly. I don't
really remember. I think it may have been very quiet.
Did you experience
a separation of your consciousness from your body?
Yes I don't recall
actually looking at my 'separate body'. I could feel it, as I was walking in it,
and it felt just like my 'normal body'. As I remember this experience, I can
remember if from to viewpoints; outside of my 'separate body', watching it go
down stairs from above and behind it, or inside my 'separate body', looking out
of its head/eyes.
What emotions did
you feel during the experience?
Calmness.
Did you hear any
unusual sounds or noises?
Sorry, I can't
remember. I think the experience may have been quiet, as I remember it as
peaceful/calm.
LOCATION
DESCRIPTION:
Did you recognize any familiar locations or any locations from familiar
religious teachings or encounter any locations inhabited by incredible or
amazing creatures?
No There was
nothing unusual about the situation. I experienced it exactly as I would have
had I been in my 'normal body' in an everyday consciousness.
Did you see a
light?
Uncertain I think
that the whole environment that I was in may have been lighter/subdued in color.
Did you meet or see
any other beings?
No
Did you experiment
while out of the body or in another, altered state?
Uncertain
I think I opened the
door to the street.
Did you observe or
hear anything regarding people or events during your experience that could be
verified later?
No
Did you have any
sense of altered space or time?
No
Did you have a
sense of knowing, special knowledge, universal order and/or purpose?
No
Did you reach a
boundary or limiting physical structure?
Uncertain
Did you become
aware of future events?
No
Were you involved
in or aware of a decision regarding your return to the body?
Uncertain
Did you have any
psychic, paranormal or other special gifts following the experience that you did
not have prior to the experience?
Uncertain I am
reasonably psychic, in that I know what will happen next in my life, I can
generally tell what other (spatially distant) people are doing if I try and
'feel' them, and I have had visions, lucid dreams, OBEs, hypnotized myself at a
young age without being aware what I was doing, can 'control' future events to
some degree etc...However, I am not aware if I could do any of these things
prior to this event, as I was very young.
Did you have any
changes of attitudes or beliefs following the experience?
Uncertain Too
young to remember.
Have you shared
this experience with others?
Yes Mother -
thought I must have been dreaming
Following the experience, have you had any other events in your life,
medications or substances which reproduced any part of the experience?
No OBE-type events have since been triggered by anesthetic that I am aware of.
Did
the questions asked and information you provided accurately and comprehensively
describe your experience?
Yes
