Experience description:
Many times throughout my young childhood I would wake up in the middle of the
night with a feeling of extreme emotion in my chest, and found myself rising
above my bed all the way to the ceiling, and would just hover there. When I
looked down, I could see myself in my bed
The ceiling was wooden panels and sometimes I counted the grains in one
of the boards. I can remember there were 26 lines in one of them. There was a
light fixture there as well and I could see how dusty it was. I was only a
little scared because I was afraid I might fall and I was unsure how I would get
down, but I felt a calmness, so I never panicked. Eventually I would always
descend slowly back and enter into my body. Once only, I began to float out of
my room and floated down the hall in the dark into the living room and floated
down to the floor just in front of our Christmas tree. That was the only time I
felt scared of the experience. Because it was dark except for the tree lights, I
did not walk back to my room. My parents found me there on the floor the next
morning. I never willed this experience. It just happened periodically. Then
when I was about 10 years old, my mother was watching a show on TV that talked
about how our of body experiences are dangerous because some people were never
able to return to there body again. Just knowing that scared me a lot, and from
then on whenever it started to happen I forced myself to not allow it. After a
while it stopped happening.
There was one other time that I can remember when I was 4 years old, but I am
not sure it was an out of body experience. I was in the back seat of the car. My
parents were in the front. We were driving home from visiting relatives out of
town. Suddenly I was looking at a gentleman sitting on a rocking chair on our
front porch. When I saw this man I
said to my mother, 'Who is that man on our front porch?'. My mother looked
shocked that I would ask that question since we had not yet arrived near our
house. She asked what he looked like, I was very young so it would have been
hard for me to describe his age, but I saw that he had a beard and his hair was
brown, so I told her that. They were silent because I think they did not believe
me. However when we got to our house there was a bearded man sitting in the
rocking chair on the front porch. I do not remember what happened after that or
whether or not my parents knew the man.
I do not
know why but all of my life I have been able to discern the presence of ghosts
and spirits.I have heard at least one evil spirit tell me I had to kill myself
when I was 10. (obviously,I'm glad I did not obey) I remember in detail the day
I was born. I have heard and seen my mother's guardian angel and I have heard
the voices of Jesus and Mary. I do not know if any of the incidents I described
previously are connected to my ability to have out of body experiences.
